II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION.

The clean and green operation, is to enlighten the mind of the residents in barangay Baluan even we live
in the peak of the mountain, that we breathe some fresh air, see greenish surroundings and of course
taste clear water. However nowadays when current and cellular network come, all the things around
seemed to change also. The air that was once fresh is now full of pollutants such as smoke and dust. The
surrounding that was once greenish become all cemented. The water that was once clear became blurred
and dirty. Some of the causes of this is the residents starts deforestation, pagkakaingin, improper waste
disposal. Most people believed that throwing a single candy wrapper is not a big deal. But take a closer
look on the situation and analyzed it. If most people throw a candy wrapper once a day simultaneously,
do you still think that it was not a big deal? Of course it isn’t. Those candy wrappers that were thrown
would piled a big trash and become a problem in the community. It might be stuck on the drainage and
backfire when a heavy rain comes then flood the community. Trees can be a lifesaver but since the trees
that once stood there were all cut, it would be impossible to absorb the water using its roots. Simple
mistakes may results to big damage. The surrounding that was once greenish full of grasses and tall trees
have become as dull as a rock. The green grasses that once were all over the place have all turned to
cemented roads. Deforestation and urbanization are the main cause of this. This mostly results landslide
at mountainous area. Since trees that were supposed to uphold the land together and prevent extensive
erosion were all cut down. If people would not just disturb the balance in its system, it would be a great
result. If people just follow the law about for every one tree that was cut, at least 3seedlings should be
planted to replace the tree that was cut, it would be a life saver. Maintaining the balance in the
ecosystem, would bring forth fortune and not a disaster.

III. PROJECT RATIONALE

Green cleaning is, in essence, cleaning using products and procedures that are safe for the environment
and do not emit any pollutants when used. Green cleaning is important not only for the environment and
our planet, but for the health of the general public. With non-green cleaning products, you get pollutants
being released into the air. There are a myriad of synthetic compounds in cleaners that are toxic and
harmful, and can be released in the air, water sources, human bodies, etc. Green cleaning products are
made to not pollute and to be better for the environment. However, it remains important to check each
product to find the best quality, least harmful product.

The Clean and Green campaign aims to protect and care for the environment by engaging the community
in leading an environmentally conscious lifestyle. It is currently administered by the National Environment
Agency. In the simplest terms, living green means making lifestyle decisions and engaging in practices
which reduce negative impact on and promote the health of the planet and its creatures.
A Clean Environment Is Essential for Healthy Living: The more you don't care about our environment, the
more it will become polluted with contaminants and toxins that have a harmful impact on our health. Air
pollution can cause respiratory diseases and cancer, among other problems and diseases.

Clean and green program should be implement at brgy. Baluan because its needs to become a healthier
environment. Waste management is an important element of environmental protection. Its purpose is to
provide hygienic, efficient and economic solid waste storage, collection, transportation and treatment or
disposal of waste without polluting the atmosphere, soil or water system . However tree planting improve
air quality by producing oxygen. They also store carbon, offsetting harmful byproducts of fossil-fuel
burning. They moderate the effects of sun and wind, and they clean the air by trapping dust, pollen and
other pollutants. As trees grow, they help absorb and sink the carbon that would otherwise contribute to
global heating.

IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. The general purpose of the project is to improve the segregation of waste and tree planting in barangay
Baluan.
2. To maintain the cleanliness in the barangay.
3. To gain support of the residents in maintaining the cleanliness and greenness of the surroundings.

V. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES.

This project would help the residents in Barangay Baluan who had the lack of initiative to do the
segregation of waste, for those people who already have a background about it. The residents also had
the lack of the initiative to the cleaning of the road side. The Barangay Baluan need a cleen and green
program to enlighten their mind if what will be the consequences when they do it permanently to the
environment. The residents of Baluan will be benefited specifically the children from 1-10 years old and
senior citizens from 60 and above. The parents and teenager of the residents will be participate as the
representatives of each family.

IV. METHODOLOGY

The Green and Clean program would be possible to implement with the help of the officialls who are
willing to give help financially through solicitation and also the participations of the Barangay Baluan
residents in implementing the digging hole and tree planting. Tree Planting Program Tree planting
program is a program that advocates nature appreciation. In this program planting seedlings would be
done in order to increase the amount of trees in the locality. The seedlings to be used were provided by
the barangay. A mahogany seed would be planted, since it less expensive and easy to cultivate. As said
in the gathered information, trees are beneficial for us since it does not only prevent floods and landslides
but also help prevents the worsening results of Global Warming. This program would be implemented in
the barangay.
