    AN OFF-GRID SOLAR ELECTRIFICATION OUTFIT IN NYITA COMMUNITY IN

    TARABA STATE, NIGERIA

    PROJECT OBJECTIVE

    The aim of the project is to develop and commission an off-grid solar electrification outfit
    in Nyita community in Taraba State, Nigeria. . The project will also support the water
    supply system of the village which is currently control by the Taraba State Rural Water
    Supply Board. To provide a steady supply of electricity to whole community (schools,
    farms, local businesses and hospitals etc.). The project cost shouldn’t exceed 1.7 million
    dollars with 0.3 million spent on preliminary studies.

    DELIVERABLES

    • Project will deliver a solar off-grid electrification outfit with a capacity of 500 kWh per day
    • Affordable electricity to Nyita, an area with unserved and underserved electrification
    • A support for water supply system

    MILESTONES
    1. Initial milestones are as follows:
    • land acquisition
    • site clearance
    • installation of solar panels
    • installation of transmission systems
    • distribution and testing
    • staff recruitment and training
    2. Provide a water supply support and transmission system
    3. Keep the cost of electricity as low as possible to provide the towners with
    affordable energy.

    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
    1. Solar panels for 500kwh electricity per day
    2. Transmission wires long enough to transfer energy to houses, shops, schools,
    almost everywhere in community.
    3. A support system for water supply (pipelines, pumps powerful enough)
    4. Infrastructure/design to install panels, and transmission that will help with future
    maintenance issues.

    $1.7 million, and $0.3 million for preliminary studies
