SECTION 5 – FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

 Fire Fighting Produces
Use water spray cool fire exposed surfaces and to protect personnel.
Shut off “fuel” to fire.
Use dry chemical powder, foam, carbon dioxide (CO²) or water fog to extinguish fire.
 Special fire precautions
Respiratory and eye protection required for the fire fighting personnel. See also Section 4 “First Aid Measures” as
well as Section 10 “Stability and Reactivity” Hazardous Combustion Product: Fumes, smoke, Carbon Dioxide (CO2).

SECTION 6 – ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

 Land Spill
Contain spill liquid with sand or earth.
Recover by pumping (use an explosion proof or and hand pump) or with a suitable absorbent. If liquid is too viscous
for pumping, scrape up with shovels or pails and place in suitable containers for recycle or disposal.
Consult and expert on disposal of recovered material and ensure conformity to local disposal regulations.
See section 4 “FIRST AID MEASURES” as well as Section 10 “STABILITY AND REACTIVITY”.
 Water spill
Warn other shipping. Notify port or relevant authority and keep public away. Shut off sources if possible to do
without hazard. Confine if possible. Remove from surface by skimming or with suitable absorbents. If swallowed by local
authorities and environment agencies sinking and or suitable dispersants may be used in non-confined waters.
Consult an expert on disposal of any recovered material and ensure conformity to local disposal regulations.
See also section 4 “FIRST AID MEASURES” as well as Section 10 “STABILITY AND REACTIVITY”.

SECTION 7 – HANDLING AND STORAGE

 Storage Temperature (°C) : between 10 to 40.
 Transport Temperature (°C) : between 10 to 40.
 Loading/Unloading Temperature (°C) : between 10 to 40.
 Storage transport pressure : Atmospheric.
 Usual shipping containers : Tanker tank cars, tank truck, drums, pails
 Material and coating suitable : Stainless steel, inorganic zinc coatings, amine epoxy coatings, nitrile rubber, rubber.
 Material and coating unsuitable : Compatibility with plastic material can vary we therefore recommended that
compatibility is test prior to use.
 Storage / Handling general notes : Keep container closed. Handle containers with care. Open slowly in order to
control possible pressure release. Store in a cool well-ventilated place away from incompatible materials.
 Do not handle store or open near an open flame, sources of heat of sources of ignition protect material from
direct sunlight
 Do not pressurize cut head or weld containers. Empty produce residue. Do not reuse empty containers without
commercial cleaning or reconditioning.

SECTION 8 – EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

 Engineering Control Measures / Ventilation :
The use of local exhaust ventilation is recommended to control process emissions near the source. Provide
mechanical ventilation of confined space, see respiratory protection recommendation.
 Personal protection :
For open systems where contact is likely, wear long sleeves, chemicals resistant gloves and chemicals goggles.
 Where prolonged contact may occur. Wear long sleeves sand safety glasses with side shields.
