Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study will be to explore experiences

of the Adventist Elementary teachers who are currently having a subject Araling

Panlipunan.

Specific Research Questions

1. What are the struggles you faced in teaching Araling Panlipunan in an Adventist

Elementary School?

2. How do the challenges affect the teaching-learning process?

3. How did you manage or cope with this challenges?

Significance of the Study

The study is regarded to be beneficial to different sectors such as the the schools,

teachers, and the students.

The study will benefit the following:

- The Schools. This study will help the school to be aware of the experiences

of their teachers and can help each teachers to possibly make an action to fill

the challenges the teachers are facing. Provide things that can help the teacher

in their teachings.

- The Teachers. As teachers in Araling Panlipunan class this study will help

them in dealing their struggles and challenges in having their AP class

delivery to students.
- The Students. Through this study, the students will also be aware and this is

possibly be an eye opener to them that teachers are also struggling through this

delivery. And thus they will appreciate and understand teachers work in this

time of new educational system.

- Future Educators. This study will help them prepare for their upcoming field

in teaching.

- Future Researchers- This may help them more information to be used in the

bigger study.

Scope and Delimitations

The study will be only focusing on the experiences of elementary teachers in Digos

Center Elementary School, teacher of an elementary level (grade 1-6). Teachers that is

holding an Araling Panlipunan subject class to the students.

The data collection procedure follows the data collection circle as suggested

by Creswell (2007). In locating the data for this study, the teachers from elementary

level of RVSDAES in Digos City, Davao del Sur will be chosen to become the

individual respondents of the study. As long as they are elementary teachers, and is

currently having an AP subject.

There are 3 general questions to be used to conduct the interview. Participants were

allowed to answer in vernacular dialect, but the answer will be translated to English

for the final paper.

The gathering of data or information will be listed by the researchers on the time that

the interview will start until it ends. The answers were being recorded by a cellphone
to communicate briefly with no interruption during the occurrence. Any concerns

from the respondents will be entertained by the researcher. If the participants don’t

clearly understand a specific question, the researcher might repeat the question and let

the participant understand it clearly. If the participant won’t answer a specific

question, then he or she will not be forced and will just proceed in the next question.

Their needs are still followed until it ends.
