MS WORD:

Microsoft word or MS word is a graphical word processing program


that users can type with. It is made by the computer company
Microsoft. Its purpose to allow users to type and save documents.
Microsoft word is a part of Microsoft office, but can also be bought
separately. Its purpose is to allow users to type and save documents.
Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make
documents.
It has advanced features which allow you to format and edit your files
and documents in the best possible way. It has mainly different
features-
• Convert a list to a table
• Quick selection methods
• Create custom tab
• Changing case, etc.

INTRODUCTION TO MS EXCEL 

MS EXCEL: 

Microsoft excel is a helpful and powerful program for data analysis


and documentation. It is a spreadsheet program, which contains a
number of columns and rows, where each intersection of a column
and a row is a “cell”. Each cell contains one point of data or one
piece of information. It is a spreadsheet program which is used to
save and analyse numerical data. Various editing and formatting can
be done on an excel spreadsheet.

MS excel is widely used for various purposes because the data is easy
to save and information can be added and removed without any
discomfort and less hard work. It helps us in following ways

▪ Easy to recover data  

▪ Application of mathematical data 

▪ More secure 

▪ Data at one place, etc…….

OBJECTIVE :- FORMATTING OF AN EXCEL SHEET

Step 1- open MS excel.


Step 2 –collect any numeric data of any student.
Step 3- find out the total of all the subjects using the formula =SUM (C2 to H2)
and same for all the remaining subjects.
Step 4- then finding out the average using the formula =AVERAGE (C2 to H2).
Step 5- for percentage =I2/180 (apply the same formula for all other keeping the
mind the row and column number).
Step 6 – for maximum and minimum =MAX and =MIN (C2 to H2).

Step 1- After Formatting And Use Of Sum, Avg, Max/Min And % Of An


Data, Select The Column Like “Avg”.
Step 2- Then Click On Conditional Formatting And To Select Highlight
Cells Rules By Showing Greater/Less Than 19.5 Marks With Different
Colours And Continue This On Other Columns.
Step 3- Click Ok Button.

in multimedia. It is a presentation based program that uses
videos, graphics, etc. to make a presentation mpre
interactive and interesting .
The file extension of a saved powerpoint presentation is “.ppt”.
A powerpoint presentation comprising slides and other
features is also known as PPT.
