SYMPTOM
Cold fusing offset
CAUSE
1. Excessive amount of toner on the image
2. Insufficient fusing temperature
3. External environmental conditions such as cool temperatures or a rough paper surface
SOLUTION
Do the following procedure.
Note: First update to the latest package firmware, after you do this procedure the density of
colored areas (especially halftone areas) can appear lighter. If you set the
following SPs to values lower than those shown in the table, this change in image
density will be more noticeable.
PROCEDURE
[0 to 9 / 0 / 1/step]
0: 1200x1200 Photo (2bit/4col)
1: 1200x1200 Photo (1bit/4col)
2: 600x600 Photo (4bit/4col)
3: 600x600 Photo (2bit/4col)
001 Resolution Setting CTL 4: 600x600 Photo (1bit/4col)
5: 1200x1200 Text (2bit/4col)
6: 1200x1200 Text (1bit/4col)
7: 600x600 Text (4bit/4col)
8: 600x600 Text (2bit/4col)
9: 600x600 Text (1bit/4col)
Note: You do not need to set SP1-102-001 #5~9 (Text mode), as the symptom does not occur
with text mode.
Important: Do the following if the color change is not acceptable to the customer.
Note: Paper curl occurs more easily if the fusing temperature is increased when the
humidity of the external environment changes.
