    PROCEDURE TO BACK UP THE FIRMWARE ON THE INVERTER ABB ACS800

    Note: Make the back up only of the firmware that you really need. If you need a firmware “Crane” back up the
    firmware from an ACS800 with “Crane” firmware and the same for a standard firmware. If you need a standard
    firmware, back up it from an ACS800 with standard firmware.

    Procedure for BACKUP a FIRMWARE:

    1. Open the ABB Program “Drive Window”;


    2. Connect the laptop to the drive where you want to back up the firmware;
    3. Select the communication drive ABB.SMP to connect to the drive;
    4. Click on File/System Software/New/Backup Package
    5. Click on File/System Software/Backup
    6. When the back up is finished Click on File/System Software/Save As.

    Prior conditions:  Backup of the firmware to install.

    Note: The following procedure delete completely the parameters and macros loaded on drive. It is essential
    have a back up of the parameters set on the drive.

    Procedure to RESTORE FIRMWARE:

    7. Open ABB Program “Drive window”;


    8. Connect the laptop to the drive where you need to restore the firmware;

    10. Click on  File/System Software/Open;
    11. Select the file “Crane_Control_Firmware.BPG” (the firmware that you need);
    12. Click on  Open;

    Upload your documents to download.


    13. Click on  File/System Software/Restore;
    14. Wait for the necessary time to download it;
    15. Click on  Parameters;
    16. Set the parameter 16.03 PASS CODE: 564  (Unlock the parameters 112);

    OR
    17. Close the program “DriveWindow”;
    18. Open again the program “DriveWindow”;
    19. Click on  Parameters;
    20. Now we need to match the size of the power board to the electronic board of the drive.

    27. Check the parameter in the group 33 Information:
    33.01 SOFTWARE VERSION: AQCRxxxx
    33.02 APPL SW VERSION: AQCCxxxx
    33.03 TEST DATE:  Test date In the format DDMMYY (day, month, year)
