I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the coordinating conjunctions;
b. create a story using coordinating conjunctions; and
c. develop team work.

The students will be given worksheets where they race to connect the dots to complete
the picture.

B. Presentation
1. The students, guided by the teacher, discuss the conjunction.
Coordinating Conjunction – is use to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the
same clause.
For – is use to connect two clauses.
And – is use to join words or group of words.
Nor – is use to contrasting grammatically negative items (not + not)
But – is use to introduce something contrasting with what has already been mentioned.
Or – is use to present an alternative item or idea.
Yet – at the same time; but nevertheless
So – is use to show the reason for something.
2. The students give their own examples of sentences using conjunction.
C. Generalization
What is conjunction?
Give sentences using conjunction.
D. Application
The students are divided into four groups. A representative of each group picks an item
from the box. They will create a story about the item they pick and they have to use coordinating
conjunction. After 10 minutes, a representative of each group will present their work to class.
Criteria: Creativity - 10 points
Team Work - 10 points
Use of Coordinating Conjunction - 10 points
Impact - 10 points

V. Assignment
Use conjunction to combine the two sentences.
1. It was very cold outside. We didn’t go to recess.
2. My sister ate candy. I wanted candy.
3. Do you want a red shirt? Do you want a blue short?
4. We learned about magnets. We learned about plants.
5. She doesn’t like to drive. She takes the bus everywhere.
