4.1. DESCRIBING POINTS

7. STRUCTURES FOR DESCRIBING DETAILS
4.1. COMPARATIVE
a. More/ Fewer + Noun + than + Noun + Verb
 More males than females chose to study English.
 Fewer females than males chose to study English.
b. The percentage/ proportion/ rate/ number/ amount… of Noun + be + (value) +
higher/lower than that of Noun/ than the figure for Noun.
 The number of students in ABC high school was higher than that of XYZ high school.
 The amount of money spent on clothes in Australia in 2010 was 400 dollars.
