Title of the study: THE EFFECTIVITY OF THE
HETEROGENEOUS SECTIONING
SYSTEM IN SAINT PIUS X INSTITUTE
OF CUYAPO: A CASE STUDY
________________________________________________________________

The study wanted to measure the effectivity of the heterogeneous section

system and its impacts to the students and teachers of Saint Pius X Institute of

Cuyapo. The study aimed to know the adjustments and changes that the

students and teachers had undergone as the system was implemented.

Furthermore, the study wanted to identify and determine the positive and

negative effects of this type of section to the whole school community regarding

academics.

The study shows that the heterogeneous sectioning system is beneficial

for the low achievers and for the teachers but not all actually, but not really for

the high achievers. The study proves that this system encourages the low

achievers to be more active regarding their academic performance. This system

serves as their foundation to excel in their class. For the high achievers, it

doesn’t benefit them because at times, low achievers are becoming dependent to

them. This system promotes unity within the whole class as teachers observe

great and deep collaboration between the students. Teaching processes and

strategies became easier and effective for the teachers as they gain help from

the high achievers.
