Definition of Ready: It deals with the user story, wherein a user story in the backlog is ready to be

accepted into a sprint and work can get started.

What Does it mean to be “Ready”?

• Details of the Story is fleshed out. Necessary and sufficient details are added to all the sections
of the user-story including Narrative, Description and Acceptance Criteria
• Story is understandable to the team
o Objective is clear in terms of the resulting value from the story
o Story is estimable by the team
o Team is confident of not facing any external dependencies during the development
o Team understands how to provide a demo of the story when it is “DONE”
• All the associated documentations and artifacts such as Design Document, Paper Model, UX
Mockup etc. are in ready and available to the team at the time of Sprint Planning
