Lesson Overview
Hello, Grade Six learner! Congratulations, you are now in the Fourth Quarter
of this unique school year. For this week, you are going to study a lesson that you
may have already studied in your lower years – verbs.
The present, past, and future tenses are called simple tenses.
The expressions every night, before sleeping, and every Sunday afternoon
are time indicators that signal habitual action.

Drought refers to a long period of dry weather, with little or no rain at all.
Meteorology deals with the study of the weather.
Remember: Verbs that end in -s or -es such as walks, talks, and cries are called
present tense singular. They go with singular noun subjects or with the subject
pronouns he, she, or it. Verbs in the present tense plural or base form go with plural
noun subjects and with the subject pronouns I, you, we, or they.
This tense indicates that the action happened in the past. Regular verbs are
verbs whose past form end in -ed. In order to transform a regular verb into past
form, add -d or -ed or d at the end of the verb.

There are two main ways of expressing future action, plans, or intentions.
The following charts show the forms of verbs that express simple future tense
in different persons, singular or plural.
Shall is usually used in the first person subjects I and we. Will is often used
with the main verb expressing future action in the second and third persons.
