GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

b. A working e-mail id of the candidate shall be given in the application:

All communications in connection with the recruitment will be sent to the registered e-mail id
only and hence the candidates are directed to check their e-mail periodically.

c. Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having
separate serial number.

d. Qualifications and Experience:

Instruction Sheet No. II of the Notification containing details of qualifications prescribed for the
posts can be downloaded from the website of University, https://recruit.cusat.ac.in/

e. Age: Age as on 01.01.2022 – Not more than 40 years for applying for the post of Assistant
Professors. Age limit prescribed will be relaxed in the case of SC/ST and OBC (Non-Creamy
Layer) candidates by 5 years and 3 years respectively. Age limit prescribed will be relaxed in
the case of Persons with Disabilities by 10 years.

f. Other conditions:
1. The appointment against the above vacancies will be made as per UGC/ AICTE
Regulations and Reservation Principles according to Cochin University of Science and
Technology Act, 1986 and Kerala State Government Rules. The posts earmarked for
Reserved Categories are exclusively reserved for them as per the provisions in the
Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules.

2. The natives of States other than Kerala shall not apply for the posts notified
exclusively under community reservation quota (SC/ST/Other Backward
Communities/EWS/Differently abled) as per the provisions in the Kerala State &
Subordinate Service Rules, 1958, as amended from time to time.

3. Only persons having minimum 40% disability shall be eligible for reservation /
concessions set apart for the Persons with Disability (PwD).The Person availing the
reservation for Persons with Disabilities shall invariably submit a Disability Certificate
issued by a Medical Board duly constituted by the State / Central Government.

4. A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as the Master’s Level for
the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward
Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) / Differently-abled for the purpose of eligibility and
assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55%
marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading System is
followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible,
based only on qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure. A
relaxation of 5% shall be provided (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D Degree
holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

g. Any corrigendum/addendum shall be posted only on the University website.


h. The applicants should possess the minimum qualifications as on the last date for
submission of application (online), failing which the application will summarily be
rejected.

i. Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the credentials as on the last date of


application (online submission). Qualifications, publications, conference etc. after the
last date will not be considered in any case.

j. How to apply:

1. Applications to the above posts have to be submitted online in the prescribed


application form available in the University Website: https://recruit.cusat.ac.in/

2. Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having
separate serial number.

3. Degrees obtained from National Institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs),
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian
Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs) or other institutions recognized
by University Grants Commission (UGC) and degrees obtained through regular mode
from Universities / Institutions listed under UGC Act, Section 12(B) are exempted from
the requirement of Recognition Certificate. However, candidates who have obtained
degrees from other Institutions/ Universities shall forward the Recognition
Certificate obtained from this University along with their application.

Desirable:- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination/Ph.D. from
Universities abroad should submit Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of
Indian Universities, AIYU House, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg, New Delhi – 2
(Equivalence Division).

4. Candidates should apply online on or before 24.06.2022.


5. One signed hard copy of the filled up online applications (Part A & Part B) along
with copies of documents to prove age, community, qualifications, percentage of
marks, experience, copies / reprints of publication (if any) with proof of impact factor
etc. should reach the Registrar, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi –
682 022 before 5.00 PM on 01.07.2022. Candidates who have applied online but
failed to submit the hard copies of the application in time will not be considered for
selection.

6. Candidates who are employed on regular basis in Government/Quasi


Government/State Autonomous Organization should forward their applications through
proper channel with No Objection Certificate. However they can send an advance copy
to the Registrar directly.

7. Late and Defective applications will be summarily rejected.

(Payment by cash / Cheque / DD will not be accepted)

Applicants residing/working abroad should remit the Registration Fee via online
payment using International Debit / Credit Card.
