Semnox Ticket Eater Interface PCB Introduction

Introduction
This document explains the procedure for interfacing the Ticket Eater Interface PCB with the ticket eater. The
PCB has been created for two purposes:
a. Ticket eaters operate at a much higher speed than normal game machines, and the reader was missing
some pulses as it was managing communication, animation etc.
b. There are ticket eaters (from Deltronics, Benchmark) which need data interaction instead of pulses

The ticket eater PCB has been created to handle different kinds of ticket eaters. This is defined by the “mode”
setup within the ticket eater. Based on the type of ticket eater, the mode must be selected.
Most of the ticket eaters work on the principle of Activation and Sensor/Notch. But the modern ticket eaters
have data exchange protocol defined. The ticket eater interface PCB handles the data communication per the
defined protocols.

▪ Startup delay - To sync with different types of TE machines, Startup delay can be adjusted from 0-9
which gives 1 to 20 seconds of startup delay.
▪ Ticket correction - To handle interface issues, Ticket correction can be added, i.e. +2 to -2 are the
options. Default is 0. The setting must be 0 for error less operation.

Connecting Interface Board to Ticket Eater Machines

The following image shows an interface board that is connected to the Ticket Eater machine.

▪ Connectors J1 are for Titoma or Lumin Readers,

▪ J2 is for Color Readers
▪ J8 is to connect the Config PCB.
The various connector and serial port details are explained in the following section.

Ticket Eater Interface board Configuration

Configure the Ticket Eater after deciding on the mode that is required. Example: Mode 2.

Step 1: Connect the power supply to connector J10 or J9. The PCB lights up, and D2, D3 blink indicating that
the connection is successful.

Power Supply to
J10
Power can be given through the Ticket Eater Machine or DC 12V Adapter. If the power is
given through the Adapter, then the ground must be common to the Ticket Eater machine connected.

Step 2: Connect the Reader. Example: Titoma (to J1) /Lumin (to J1)/ Color (to J2)
