To Whom It May Concern:
It has been my pleasure to work with Ms. Taylor Garber. I served as Ms. Garber’s
Science Methods Instructor for Michigan State University during her Internship
year. Ms. Garber demonstrates a passion for the teaching profession and was able to
adjust the educational material to meet the needs and interests of her students. She
developed lessons that encouraged her students to use higher-level thinking skills to
solve challenging problems in science.
Throughout our semester together, Ms. Garber worked to continually refine her
teaching skill. Using the Mystery Science Curriculum, she planned for multiple ways
her students could access the curriculum, demonstrating the ability to incorporate
problem solving skills to allow students to have multiple experiences with science
phenomena. By learning about the third-grade students she worked with during the
school year for her internship, she was able to design science lesson plans that
created an excitement for her students to engage with the curriculum. Ms. Garber
worked to adapt science lessons that would allow her students to demonstrate their
understanding of the science phenomenon in multiple ways, including drawing and
writing.
Ms. Garber demonstrated that she is a strong role model for her students. She
contributed positively in many ways to our class discussions and activities. Her
leadership skills were displayed throughout the semester as she participated in our
class topics, sharing ideas and strategies with her teaching colleagues.
I highly recommend Ms. Garber as a future educator. She will be a valuable member
of any educational faculty and will do well in her graduate studies. I wish her
continued success in this chosen field.
Sincerely,
