UNIVERSITY CASE STUDY

1. Required documents
 A signed printout of your application form
 Two passport photos
 Copy of identity document
 Official academic transcript(s) from each university you attended before (if
applicable)
 High school diploma or Bachelor's diploma
 Language proficiency certificates (IELTS for English in Switzerland or C1 level)
 CV
 Evidence of paying the application fee (100 – 150 CHF or 400 CHF for late
applications)
 Personal essay/Motivation letter
 Reference letters, if required

2. University credits

You are assessed by your professor in terms of the amount of knowledge and skills you
achieve once you complete the course. There are different forms of assessment, such as:
-attendance
-tests taken during the course
-projects/research work
-oral/written examination.

A full study year normally consists of 60 credits, which means that completing a
Bachelor’s degree (Undergraduate course) would require earning 180 credits. A Master’s
degree usually requires 120 credit points.

 Credits support your entry to a higher education programme 
 They keep track of student progress and determine when he/she has met study
requirements 
 They estimate the workload of a programme 
 You can transfer to another university programme while keeping part or all
previously earned credit points 
 Use the credit you earned to study abroad – academic credit is used and
recognised internationally 
 Academic credits act as proof of previous studies when looking for a job 
 Some universities use academic study credits to set degree costs
