Therefore, tower A transmits to phone J, tower b transmits to phones K and L, and Tower C transmits to
phones L and N
C.

I what are the points of intersection of tower c and b?

Tower Expanding

B= (5,3) B=( x−5 )2 + ( y−3 )=2.52

C= (2,3) B= x 2−10 x+ 25+ y 2−6 y +9=6.25

Radius C= ( x−2 )2 + ( y−5 )2=22

=2.5 mi C= x 2−4 x+ 4+ y2 −10 y+ 25=4
=2 mi

Negate one equation and add the two together to get a linear equation.

B = −x 2+ 10 x−25− y 2 +6 y−9=−6.25

C = x 2−4 x+ 4+ y2 −10 y+ 25=4

= 6 x−21−4 y +16=−2.25
D.

Problem solve for the common point of the following circles:

(A) = x 2+ y 2+ 4 x−12 y +11=0

(B) = x 2+ y 2−4 x −4 y +3=0
(C) = x 2+ y 2+2 x +4 y−5=0

A eq 1 x 2+ y 2+ 4 x−12 y +11=0

B eq 2 x 2+ y 2−4 x −4 y +3=0

C eq 3 x 2+ y 2+2 x +4 y−5=0

Eq 1

2( x 2+ y 2+ 4 x−12 y +11=0 ) = 2 x2 +2 y 2 +8 x−24 y +22=0

Eq 2

-1( x 2+ y 2−4 x −4 y +3=0) = −x 2− y 2 +4 x+ 4 y−3=0

Eq 3

-1( x 2+ y 2+2 x +4 y−5=0) = −x 2− y 2−2 x−4 y +5=0

Add all the equations to remove the squares (using systems of equations)

= 2 x2 +2 y 2 +8 x−24 y +22=0

=−x 2− y 2 +4 x+ 4 y−3=0

=−x 2− y 2−2 x−4 y +5=0

=0+ 0+10 x −24 y +24=0 => Eq 4

Do the same but only the equations 2 and 3 to get Eq 5

Eq 2 =>−x 2− y 2 +4 x+ 4 y−3=0

Eq 3 => x 2+ y 2+2 x +4 y−5=0

Eq 5 = 0+ 0+6 x+ 8 y−8=0
Eliminate Y to find the value of x using eq 4 and 5

Eq 4 => 8(10 x−24 y +24=0 )

Eq 5 => 24(6 x +8 y−8=0)

Yields:
=80 x−192 y+ 192=0

=144 x +192 y −192=0

= 224x =0

224 x 0
= =
224 224
=x=0

Find the value of Y

Eq 5 => 6 x +8 y−8=0

= 6( 0)+ 8 y−8=0

=8 y−8=0

=8 y=8

8y 8
= =
8 8
=y = 1

Therefore, the coordinates of the intersection of the three points is at (0,1)

II. The method I used in solving the problem is using the elimination method from systems of
equations, to achieve that I multiplied equation 1 by 2 and negated equation 2 and 3 so that I
could eliminate the squares first. Then doing the same elimination method but with equations 2
and 3 to get equation 5 and so we can use those 2 new equations to find x to do that we
multiply one eq 4 with 8 and eq 5 with 24 in order to eliminate y, after that you substitute x in
equation 5 to find the value of y and there you have it folks you just found the
