G7-Mapitagan Week 2 (Quarter 3)

Assessment (Performance task – Reflection)

Angle Pair: Complementary Angle

Reason: In a right angled triangle, the two non-right angles are complementary,
because in a triangle the three angles add to 180°, and 90° has already been taken
by the right angle. When two angles add to 90°, we say they "Complement" each
other, two angles that add up to 90 degrees.

Angle Pair: Supplementary Angle

Reason: Two angles whose measures add up to 180°. The two angles of a linear
pair, like ∠1 and ∠2 in the figure below, are always supplementary. But, two angles
need not be adjacent to be supplementary. In the next figure, ∠3 and ∠4 are
supplementary, because their measures add to 180°.
Summative Test:

Part I

A. Conversion

1. 105 mm = 0.105 m

2. 15.4 L = 4.06825 gal

3. 185°F = 85°C

4. 2,167 sec. = 0.02508102 days

B. Angles (write the kind of angle)

5. 91° = obtuse angle

Part II

A. Direction: Express the given Verbal Phrase to Mathematical Expression

6. 5 more than twice a number – (5 + 2 = 7) (7 x 2 = 14)

7 - 8. (4x2-2x+5) + (5x3+x+1) –

Multiply the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (5⋅3+𝑥+1)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (15+𝑥+1)

Add the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (15+𝑥+1)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (16+𝑥)

Rearrange terms
4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (16+𝑥)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+ (𝑥+16)

Add the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5+𝑥+16

4𝑥2−2𝑥+21+𝑥
Combine like terms
4𝑥2−2𝑥+21+𝑥

4𝑥2−𝑥+21

Solution
4𝑥2−𝑥+21

9 – 10.

Multiply the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (5⋅3+𝑥+1)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (15+𝑥+1)

Add the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (15+𝑥+1)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (16+𝑥)

Rearrange terms
4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (16+𝑥)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (𝑥+16)

Distribute
4𝑥2−2𝑥+5− (𝑥+16)

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5−𝑥−16

Subtract the numbers

4𝑥2−2𝑥+5−𝑥−16

4𝑥2−2𝑥−11−𝑥

Combine like terms

4𝑥2−2𝑥−11−𝑥

4𝑥2−3𝑥−11

Solution
4𝑥2−3𝑥−11
Part III

A. Direction: Solve the following given.

5 3
25 a b c 1953125 a4
11. =
5 a b4 c b

12. 2 ab ( 4 a2 +3 ab−7 b2 ) = 32a^ (3) b + 6a^ (2) b^ (2) −98ab^ (3)

13. ( m+n )2 = m^ (2) + 2mn + n^ (2)

14. (m+n)(m−n) = m^ (2) – n^ (2)

15. ( m−n )3 = m3 −3m^ (2) n + 3mn^ (2) −n3

Part IV. Translate the following statements into equation or inequality. Use x as the
variable to represent the number.

16. Five times a number is 20 = 5x = 20

17. The monthly income is at least Php.35, 000 = x > 35, 000

18. The sum of three times a number and 7 is 22 = 3x + 7 = 22

For numbers 4 and 5: Five times a number decreased by 3 is 17. Find the number.

19 – 20.

5x – 3 = 17

5x = 17 + 3

5 x=20
55

x=4
