Blood Covenant
Part-4 : Receiving Covenant Blessings

Quick Review

THE PURPOSE OF THE BLOOD COVENANT IS TO ESTABLISH AN INTIMATE LOVING RELATIONSHIP

BETWEEN GOD AND US.

JESUS IS HIGH PRIEST AND MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT

THE NEW COVENANT IS AN ETERNAL COVENANT

"...the blood of the everlasting covenant (Hebrews 13:20)

Today Part-4 : Receiving Covenant Blessings

WE MUST SEEK TO RAISE THE LEVEL OF OUR EXPERIENCE TO MATCH THE WORD OF GOD

Understanding Covenant Privileges, Provisions And Blessings

When Jesus died on the Cross and established the new covenant, He not only paid for
the forgiveness of sins, but for everything else we needed and God desired for us to
have was made available to us. Everything is included in the blood covenant we are in.

What are the provisions, privileges and blessings of our blood covenant?

In chapter one we mentioned that there are TWO CORNERSTONES OF GOD'S

COVENANT WITH US: HIS NATURE AND HIS WORD. God's covenant with us is
undergirded by who He is and what He has said to us.

The Nature of God

I will bless you

WHEN GOD SAYS "I" WILL BLESS YOU - HE MEANS ALL WHO HE IS, IS NOW MADE
AVAILABLE TO YOU.

A Daughter of Abraham
Luke 13:10-17

God's covenant names
God's nature is revealed through His covenant names.
ALL WHO GOD IS, AS REVEALED THROUGH HIS COVENANT NAMES IS AVAILABLE TO US
THROUGH HIS BLOOD COVENANT WITH US

The Word of God

In relation to the Abrahamic covenant - Abraham's Blessings Included

Galatians 3:13-14,29
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written,
"CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE"),
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith.
29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

THE BLESSINGS THAT WERE PROMISED TO ABRAHAM AS PART OF THE ‘ABRAHAMIC’

COVENANT IS OURS TODAY.
• Blessing in all things (Genesis 24:1,35)
• Blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:1–3)
• Righteousness by faith (Genesis 15:6)
• Friendship with God (James 2:23)
• Victory over enemies (Genesis 22:16-17)
• Blessings on the family and children (Genesis 17:7)

In relation to the Mosaic covenant - Old Covenant Promises Are Our Minimum

Deuteronomy 28:1-14

Hebrews 7:22
by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

Hebrews 8:6
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better
covenant, which was established on better promises.

In the New Covenant - Every spiritual blessing in Christ

Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places in Christ,

2 Corinthians 1:20

apcwo.org / [email protected] 2 All Peoples Church & World Outreach, Bangalore, India
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Everything Jesus provided for us through the Cross is ours through the new covenant.

Qualified to partake of it all

Colossians 1:12
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the
light.

Receiving Covenant Blessings

#1) Obedience To His Word

#2) Exercise Faith
#3) Take It By Force

We see this in Abraham's life.

Abraham obeyed God (Hebrews 11:8,17)
Abraham walked in faith (Romans 4:12,17-21)
Abraham endured (Hebrews 6:12)

#1) Obedience To His Word

Acts 20:32
"So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up
and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Ephesians 1:18
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling,
what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

This is where the Holy Spirit enables us - to walk in obedience to His Word.

In this New Covenant, God's Word is written in our hearts and minds (Hebrews 8:10)

Walk in love
Walk in purity
Walk in holiness

We are already qualified to receive.

Walking in obedience positions us to receive what is already ours.

#2) Exercise Faith

Abraham was in blood covenant with God and he walked in faith to receive what he was
promised.

When Jesus ministered to people under the Old Covenant, they received by faith. In fact
He was amazed by the faith that people outside the covenant demonstrated - the
Roman Centurion, the Canaanite woman.

You faith is based on the completed work of Christ on the Cross, the power of His blood,
and the promises of God to you in His Word.

Understand the dynamics of faith in God - how do we exercise faith in God.

Walk in the steps of the faith of Abraham (Romans 4:12).

WE RECEIVE BY FAITH WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY STATED IS OURS THROUGH THE BLOOD
COVENANT.

Mark 11:22-24
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says.
24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and
you will have them.

FAITH BELIEVES THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED WHEN WE PRAYED.

IT IS NOW A SETTLED MATTER.

When we extend our faith to possess (receive, walk in) our covenant blessings Jesus is
the Mediator (Guarantor, Surety, Enforcer) of these covenant blessings. Remember His
covenant cannot fail. He Himself is the Mediator of His covenant.

2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

#3) Take It By Force

Matthew 11:12
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the
violent take it by force.

WE MUST PUSH PAST THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL TO TAKE WHAT IS OURS.

Satan hath bound the woman

Luke 13:16
So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for
eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"

There is one, THE DEVIL, WHO WANTS TO DEPRIVE US OF NEW COVENANT PROVISIONS
AND BLESSINGS.
Ignorance : The enemy may attempt to keep us in ignorance, so that we do not know
what the New Covenant promises and provides for us (Hosea 4:6).
Forsake : The enemy may attempt to cause us to forsake or forget the God of Covenant
(Deuteronomy 4:23).
Seduce : As in Daniel 11:32, the enemy may flatter (seduce, lure) us away to do wickedly
against the covenant.
Dishonor : As Hebrews states, some people may count the blood of the covenant as a
common thing (Hebrews 10:29).

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not
love their lives to the death.

#1) Obedience To His Word

#2) Exercise Faith
#3) Take It By Force

Blood Covenant
Part-4 : Receiving Covenant Blessings

The is a simple guide for use in Life Group discussions. Our objective is to focus on the
application of the Sunday sermon - how each one is becoming a doer of the Word and building
their life on God's Holy Word. The Life Group meeting would normally last for 2 hours. Each Life
Group would have up to 12-15 people.

Preparation
To prepare for the Life Group meeting, you can listen to the Sermon Key Points (sermon
summary in five minutes) or the full length Sunday sermon. You can also review the Sunday
Sermon notes. All these are available in the "All Peoples Church Bangalore" mobile App or online
at apcwo.org/sermons . Pray for the Life Group meeting and invite the work and ministry of the
Holy Spirit.

Welcome
The Life Group meeting may commence with a time of prayer, worship and a fun activity.

LISTEN to God's Word

Read the following Scripture passages: Hebrews 8:6; Ephesians 1:3; Colossians 1:12; Acts 20:32;
Mark 11:22-24; Matthew 11:12

INVESTIGATE God's Word Together

Please discuss a few of these together, giving time for people to share their insights. We
encourage each one individually to make notes of their personal learning during the Group
discussion.

1) Talk about the provisions, privileges and blessings that are ours as part of the new covenant.
Try to cover as many are you can.

2) Discuss the three simple "steps" to receive covenant blessings:

A) Obedience To His Word
B) Exercise Faith
C) Take It By Force
Are there specific areas you would like to work on to receive and walk in covenant blessings? Set
yourself to go after what God has made available to you. Pray for one another.

apcwo.org / [email protected] 6 All Peoples Church & World Outreach, Bangalore, India
If time permits, each one takes a few (3 minutes max) to share one or two key learning and how
they see themselves applying it into their specific life situations. Encourage each one to
participate and share.

FELLOWSHIP by sharing your life and spiritual journey

Each one takes a few (3 minutes max) to share anything from their walk with God, something
God has been teaching them, a testimony of answered prayer or a specific challenge that they
would like prayer for. Encourage each one to participate and share.

ENCOURAGE each other by praying and ministering to one another

Get into small groups of two or three and take turns to thank God and pray for each other in the
light of what was learnt today. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Expect the gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow
bringing healing, releasing miracles, prophecy, etc.

Regroup and pray together for:

1, families to be protected and strengthened
2, a mighty outpouring of God's Holy Spirit on us as a church and through us to bless many
others in our city and nation. Nothing but a mighty work of God's Spirit can change our city and
nation.
3, for the BUILD TO IMPACT project - for God's hand to guide us through the land search and
acquisition process, and for finances to be more than enough to get this project done.

Close by thanking God together.
