STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION:

My name is Om Santosh Kolapkar; I was born on 26/10/2001. I live in the central city
of state Maharashtra named Sangamner in India. I am extrinsically as well as intrinsically
motivated to study and earn my master’s in the field of business from a well-reputed
college inUnited Kingdom. This experience will give me multiple opportunities to
ameliorate my expertise and professional skills. Also, many scholars from my country
have studied in the United Kingdom to enhance their abilities which have proved
advantageous for the country. We are a family of 4 members including me. My Father’s
name is Santosh, who is a businessman. My mother’s name is Vaishali, who is a Housewife.
I also have 1 older brother and his name is Jay.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

I completed my schooling in the year 2017 with an 8.5 CGPA in 10th grade from the SSC
board. Then, in the year 2019, I, fortunately, achieved 53.69% in my 12th grade in Science
Stream (PCMB) from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education. After that in the year 2022, I accomplished my undergraduate course which
was a Bachelor’s degree in commerce. Apart from all of the above I have also played
badminton at the state and district level simultaneously with my bachelor's degree
(2020-2022) and acquired an ‘A’ grade and I can proudly say that this experience helped
me in developing my leadership qualities, made me more confident, enhanced my
speaking and communication skills via group discussion sessions, understanding the
importance of physical fitness, inculcated a sense of unity and discipline in me, along with
it adventurous activities like camping and rifle shooting developed inside me a more
optimistic and daring behaviour and also motivated me in becoming a youth of the
country who can promote how physical fitness is important.

WHY THE UNITED KINGDOM?

There are plenty of reasons why I want to continue my further studies in the United
Kingdom, including personal and professional motives. First I would like to start with
discussing the professional objectives, after searching and reading about the UK’s
education system on the internet I found a sentence written that the UK is considered the
best and safest city in terms of providing education to the locals as well as international
students and this sentence encouraged me to search more about it. Then after my further
research, I got aware of the fact that

The degrees which one acquires from UK universities are been accepted and recognized
by the entire world which offers ‘n’ number of opportunities or options in the future. After
that the 2nd best part was I don’t have to spend a large sum of money to gain education in
the UK since it is a very cost-effective country in terms of education. Simultaneously, I
also got attuned to the fact that the UK offers a wide range of technical facilities which
helps students in living a more comfortable life since it has become extremely important
to upgrade one with all the modern technological developments to survive in this modern
and globalized world. Also, I read about the tide that the UK was the first country which
introduced the scheme called the “innovative school net program” in which the UK linked
its schools as well as libraries with the internet and this is the fact that made me more
positive and confident about the country’s education system making me realize that I
took the best decision regarding continuing my further studies in the UK. Apart from this
I also communicated with my friends and relatives who are studying at present as well as
those who have completed their education in the UK. And after the hours of
communication, a conclusion which came out was only positive for example I discovered
that the UK is a country where you get an extremely safe environment, you get all the
basic facilities available everywhere, you get an experience of living in one of the most
amazing territories which have extremely beautiful surroundings, positive and awesome
culture plus the locals there are very helpful and supportive and also have very friendly
behaviour. Along with it the colleges and universities there are very well maintained, are
very neat and clean and helps you in developing all the skills which one need to build a
successful career in future in any field. And the very important thing which I experienced
after communicating with my friends in the UK was that they have changed and
transformed themselves in a very positive way like they have developed a rich
personality which reflects so much confidence in them and also they have become more
focused and hard-working than before. Apart from all of the above on a personal note I
can say that the UK is the same country which I used to dream about studying in and
having some of the life experiences In along with it I feel like I will be the luckiest person
if I get chance to study in the UK.

WHY NOT INDIA?:

I think I can say I have many reasons why I don’t want to continue my further studies in
India. The first reason is that since I have completed most of the education in India, I only
want to experience the education system of an entirely different country. The education
system and I want to know how it feels like to study in or become a student of a different
country and know about the students of other countries. Furthermore, since I was very
young I used to and even today I dream of gaining education from UK universities, make
locals friends because I love making friends from different countries because according
to my way of thinking this is the best way to learn and can even help in broadening your
horizon regarding distinctive cultures, religions, and people, as well as u, get a lot of
experience from others. Along with it, there’s no denying that developed countries always
offers and give more opportunities than the countries which are still in developing
conditions and since India is also a developing country I feel like with the same efforts u
can achieve more in a developed nation as compared to what you put in developing
nations.

WHY THIS UNIVERSITY & COURSE?:

Choosing a country like the United Kingdom for a student like me gives me a golden
opportunity to join various top-ranked universities. I chose KingstonUniversity as my
first preference. As per my research, it is popular for its vibrant & cosmopolitan student

I chose to study at KingstonUniversity because when I went through the website of the
university I came to know that the university offers a full range of Foundation,
Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Certification, and Research courses across various
faculties – including Business, Financial, and Technologies ext.

When I further researched on the internet, I came to know in regards to the high quality
of teaching is one of the biggest reasons students come to this college. Much academic
staff is qualified highly.

While going through the course content of the college website, I realized that its courses
are grounded in a creative approach to teaching that blends theory with practice.
Academic staff across all disciplines has the substantial industry experience and maintain
links with professional bodies so students at university benefit from teaching that is
underpinned by real-world application. Through their research and consultancy
engagements with leading global organizations, the college staffs help students to make
the transition into employment, which is the most important aspect of who is looking for
a successful career ahead.

I choose Postgraduate Certificate –Management and International Business MSc with

Pathways as an ideal choice for me to fast-track my career or learn more about the
realities. The graduate certificate program prepares and transforms students to become

The curriculum will facilitate students with a set of skills for working in a client-facing
position and behind-the-scenes roles with companies; insurance companies; trust

FUTURE PLANS:
My plans include securing and achieving a position as a financially stable and
independent man. Also after completing my studies, gaining all the valuable experience,
and developing both hard and soft skills I aim at returning to my country India and apply
for my desired job once I achieve stability in my professional & financial life I dream to
start my business and after that own an NGO (irrespective of gender and age) and help
needy people as much as possible. Apart from this I also aim at setting a good example of
how important it is to become independent and follow dreams to live a peaceful life for
my sisters my family and every single individual around me so that it will motivate them
to do more, become more confident and also become successful in life.

FINANCIAL BACKGROUND AND SPONSORS:

I am getting all of the financial support from my father only. My father has an occupation
of Electronic Stores as well as Construction business. He is the only one who motivated
me to go to the UK and continue my studies there because it will not only help me achieve
a more successful career but will also help in motivating my brother to focus on building
and living a productive life and following the path of hard work. At last, I wholeheartedly
want to thank my parents for building such good relationships with everyone and
working so hard that today their efforts are becoming positively responsible for
propelling me towards a healthy and happy future and following all my dreams.
