OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY


STATEMENT OF INTENT
THE BOX FACTORY LIMITED is committed to the pursuit of good management
practice in every aspect of our business; therefore we will observe, with
sincerity, the elimination of harm to our employees and others who may be
affected by our activities through promotion of health and safety of every one at
o u r w o r k p l a c e . Further, it is our responsibility to make sure that OHS issues are given equal
importance at every level of planning and decision making so as to achieve our goal of zero harm to our
people for the betterment of T H E B O X F A C T O R Y L I M I T E D and compliance to OHS legislation.

POLICY OBJECTIVES

Our objectives in fulfillment of our commitment towards OHS will be;-


 Recognizing, evaluating and managing health and safety risks through implementation of our
comprehensive safe working procedures that aimed towards best operation practices to achieve our
goals without compromising our workers safety
 To provide relevant training to ensure that our employees are competent to do their works.
 To maintain safe and healthy working conditions and environment, provide and maintain equipment,
hence ensure safe storage/use of substances.
 To prevent accidents/injuries and cases of work-related ill health and provide adequate control (PPE) of
health and safety risks arising from the work activities.
 To implement emergency procedures – evacuation in case of fire or other significant incidents.
 To record and report all serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous
occurrences (near misses) to OSHA within specified time.
 To maintain First-aid box and accident book in our organization under a supervision of the appointed
trained personnel.
ORGANIZATION (EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEES) RESPONSIBILITIES
In consultation with workers we will promote a safety and Health environment for all employees, contract
workers, subcontractors, clients and visitors. We believe perfection in health and safety at work has its
foundations in the personal and perceptible commitment and involvement of every person in the organization
as follows;
 The overall responsibility for implementing and maintaining the standards for health and safety lie with
the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
 Head of Directorates/departments/Plants (working sections) have specific responsibility for the
implementation of health and safety in units under their control.
 All employees have a right to expect a safe and health place of work, understand and practice OHS hence
work safely.
This policy will be reviewed annually to keep it relevant and appropriate to T H E B O X F A C T O R Y
LIMITED.
