1. Give the block diagram of a feedback amplifier and explain the function of each block b) A current
amplifier without feedback has the following parameter values. Short circuit current gain A i=-200,
Input resistance Ri=1K, output resistance R0=40K load resistance RL=1k, Bandwidth=300KHz.
Compute Aif, Rif, Rof & BWf if 5% -ve current shunt feedback is used.
2. Enumerate advantages and disadvantages of negative feedback in an amplifier. What are the
various types of negative feedback amplifiers? Discuss in detail.
3. Explain the operation of ideal series-series feedback amplifier with a neat circuit diagram.
4. A voltage-series negative feedback amplifier has a voltage gain without feedback of A=250 input
resistance Ri=5K, output resistance R0=20K and feedback ratio =0.01. Calculate the voltage gain
Af, input Resistance Rif and output resistance Rof of the amplifier with feedback.
5. Derive the expression for voltage gain (A f), input resistance Rif, output resistance Rof of the current-
shunt feedback amplifier
6. An amplifier has a voltage gain of 500, f1=100Hz, f2=400KHz and a distortion of 10% without
feedback. Determine the amplifier voltage gain f1f, f2f and Df when a negative feedback is applied
with feedback ratio of 0.01.
7. State Barkhausen criterion for oscillation. Explain how oscillation are sustained in touch amplifier
8. Explain briefly about frequency and amplitude stability of oscillators
9. Explain the working of a RC oscillator. Derive the expression for frequency of oscillation and the
value of gain required for sustained oscillation.
