Lesson 9 Mock Interview Reflection
Lesson 9 Mock Interview Reflection
Directions: Review the Mock Interview Critique Form completed by your teacher. Use
the results to reflect on your experience by answering the questions below.
1. What steps did you take to prepare for the mock interview?
The steps I took to prepare for this mock interview were talking in the mirror until I
felt confident enough to do otherwise. I also looked into the company a bit so that I
could answer any questions that could relate to the company of job position.
I felt very shy and awkward. It was a big adjustment to talking in the mirror. However,
I have been working and always work with customers, so I knew that my responses
would come naturally.
3. Reflect on your actual responses. Did you feel your responses were adequate or
could you have done better? Explain.
I feel as if my responses could have done a bit better just because the amount of
stuttering I did wasn't very appealing to such an employer. I think I could have been
more calm and prepared even though it was all in my mind.
5. What questions do you feel you could have answered better? How would you
have answered them differently?
Questions I feel I could have answered better would be my flaws and things I can
work on because when it comes to picking at my flaws I seem to stutter or get
overwhelmed.
7. What areas did your teacher mark as needing improvement? In what ways do
you plan to improve your performance in these areas?
My teacher said that I could work on the area of discussing my weaknesses. This
question is very tricky because you don’t want to give them too many ideas of areas
you need to work on because they might think that you are not a good worker, but
you also need to answer this question. She gave me the idea of choosing something
that can be considered a strength and a weakness.
