Create the Calendar events for Public Holidays Continue

1. Sign in Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud by your implementation user.


2. From user Menu > Administration > Setup and Maintenance.
3. Search: Manage Calendar Events
4. From Actions > Create

You Will create 3 calendar events as the following


Eid Al-Fitr
✓ Saudi National Day 2019
Eid al-Adha
Create Work Shifts
Saudi Arabia
1. From user Menu > Administration > Setup and Maintenance.
2. Search: Manage Work Shifts
3. From Actions > Create Time Shift
Save and close
Note:

If the business runs 24/7, we can create 3 work shifts as the following:

✓ The first shift (The day Shift): [09:00 AM To 05:00 PM]


✓ The second shift (afternoon or swing shift): [05:00 PM To 01:00 AM]
✓ The Night Shift: [01:00 AM To 09:00 AM]
Create Work Workday Patterns
Saudi Arabia
1. From user Menu > Administration > Setup and Maintenance.
2. Search: Manage Work Workday Patterns
3. From Actions > Create Time Workday Pattern
✓ Length of Days: 7 (This is a week from Sunday to Saturday)
✓ Start Day: 1(Sunday)
✓ End Day: 5 (Thursday)
✓ 6 & 7 is off day.
✓ From Shift Name Menu choose: 09:00-17:00 Shift

Save and Close


Create Work Schedules
Saudi Arabia
1. From user Menu > Administration > Setup and Maintenance.
2. Search: Manage Work Schedules
From Actions > Create
Note:
✓ Work Schedule Start Date must begin at a Sunday So, effective from date is 6 Jan 2019.

From Name list Choose 09:00-17:00 Workday Pattern.


From Exceptions menu Type choose Calendar event category > Public Holidays
Where its availability is off period
Press Submit Button
Manage Work Schedule Assignment Administration

1. From user Menu > Administration > Setup and Maintenance.
2. Search: Manage Work Schedule Assignment Administration
You can assign the Time schedule at many levels as above.

Assignment level has top precedence as the following:


So, I will use Assignment Resource Type to an employee as the following:

You can determine the following:

✓ Start Date: the default is the current date.


✓ End Date: leave the default of the schedule
✓ Resource Type: Assignment
✓ Name: of the employee you want to assign this schedule to him
✓ Primary: Yes

Press submit button


Check Availability Calendar & Absence validation

Press View Calendar Button
The availability calendar begins from Sunday 2 June 2019
The availability calendar shows that Eid al-Fitr from 20 to 30 June 2019.
The availability calendar shows that Eid al-Adha from 5 to 15 August 2019.
The availability calendar shows that Saudi National Day 2019 on 23 Sep 2019.

Therefore, all Saudi Public Days appears in the availability calendar, successfully.

Now, I will check validation when this employee tries to add an absence.

From 1st June 2019 (The start date of Work Schedule Assignments)

✓ Weekend days (Friday & Saturday) are not allowed to be in the absence records.
On Saturday 1st June 2019
On Friday 7st June 2019
On Friday 7st June 2019

Absence Plans Continue
Absence Plan Types:

Accrual
Use this type to create absence plans that enable workers to accrue time for taking paid leave, such as a
vacation plan. Configure rules that determine various aspects of leave time, such as:
❑ Length and type of the accrual term in which workers accrue time
❑ Maximum time that workers can accrue in a term
❑ Maximum time that workers can carry forward to the next term

Qualification
Use this type to create an absence plan where workers qualify for the plan and receive payments during the
absence period.
For example, use qualification plans for defining absence rules related to events, such as long term illness or
maternity. Configure rules to determine the payment percentages that apply for specific periods during the
absence, for specific workers.

No Entitlement
Create absence plans of this type to track unpaid absences without maintaining an accrual balance or
providing leave entitlements, such as periodic accruals. Similar to an accrual plan, you can define the length
and type of the plan term and determine when eligible workers can enroll in the plan. You can also use plans
of this type in combination with a qualification plan. For example, use a no-entitlement plan if a worker is not
eligible for a standard maternity absence qualification plan.
Absence Plan Types:

Agreement
Create absence plans of this type in accordance with statutory rules for use under an agreement. For
example, create a shared parental leave agreement for a worker and qualified parental partner to allocate
paid or unpaid time off among parenting partners.

Compensatory
Create absence plans of this type to track earned compensatory time that can be used for time off.
Compensatory time is offered as compensation for working outside of regular work schedules. Instead of
paying overtime, an employer can create a policy to give paid time off.

Donation
Create absence plans of this type to track donated time that a worker receives. Workers can donate their
accrual plan balance to a coworker who needs additional time off and is eligible to receive the donated
time.
