2.2. What to do if the setup progam did not start?

OBS! Follow these instructions only if the previously mentioned setup main window did not
startup. Otherwise proceed to section: 2.3 – Installation Process.

Sometimes, for some reason, the Microsoft Windows AutoRun functionality might not kick in after
inserting the CD-ROM media into a drive. This is especially common in some companies where the
local system administrator has disabled this feature.
Here is the procedure to start the setup progam manually if it did not automatically start after inserting
the CD into a drive:

Step 1: Right click on the Start-button at the lower left and choose Explorer from the popup window
that appears.

(Picture 2.2)
This will open the Windows explorer program which will list the contents of your computer.

Step 2: From the left pane of the Explorer window try to locate a CD-ROM drive lapeled
Petroprogram company (X:) where the X can be any drive letter.
When you have found it right click on the label and select AutoRun/Start from the popup window that
will appear.

(Picture 2.3)
Step 3 (optional): If even this won't work then on the right pane of the same Windows Explorer
window, click either of the two icons:
• PPC To start the program directly from CD-ROM.
• Setup To start the installation program.

2.3. Installation Process

Because the installation process from here on is pretty straightforward (basically just accepting the
default values and clicking the Next-button) we won't examine it in greater detail.
The only things that are of any interest of here are the Software License agreement (see picture 2.4)
which you must agree if you want to use this software and the optional
example calculations pdf-files which are selected by default (see picture 2.5).

Next, select one of the modules by either clicking it's name from the list or using Up- and Down arrow keys
from the keyboard. Each time you click or press Up- or Down key the description of the module will be
updated on the right. This way you can easily browse throught the available program modules without actually
running them and see what they will do.

(Picture 3.3)
Before we run a selected module (calorific21) let me quickly describe the functions of the following icons.

Info button. Currently, because this is so simple and easy to use software it will just show the
program version and copyright information.
The shortcut for this is Ctrl + I key combination.

Run button. This will only appear in the main window. This is just a another way to start
the selected program module.
The shortcut for this is Ctrl + R key combination.

Quit button. This will either:

1. exit the currently open program module and return back to main window.
2. completely quit the main window.
The shortcut for this is Ctrl + Q key combination.
Now, there are several ways to start the module you are interested.
To start the selected module you can do one of the following:
