1. FORMATTING DOCUMENTS
AIM:
To create a program in Ms-Word to format document and text (text alignment, font-
color, size, style, line spacing, bullet and numbering, Bold, italic, underline, Paragraph
formatting etc).
PROCEDURE:
Step1: Open Ms-word by start -> All programs -> Ms Office -> Ms Word
Step 2: Type the content that needed
Step 3: Set the alignment by left (ctrl+L), Right (ctrl+R), Justify (Ctrl+J) and
Center (ctrl+E)
Step 4: To change the font color, style, size, background color by select the
text and right click on it then select font and do the changes (or) Select font
group menu to make changes
Step 5: For Bold (Ctrl+B), Italic (Ctrl+I), Underline (ctrl+U)
Step 6: For line spacing, bullet and numbering select the paragraph group

Step 7: Save the document and stop the process

3. MAIL MERGE
AIM:
To create a program using mail-merge in Ms-Word
PROCEDURE:
Step1: Open Ms-word by start -> All programs -> Ms Office -> Ms Word
Step 2: Type the content of the letter except To address
Step 3: Mailings ->start mail merge->Step by step mail merge wizard
Step 4: In mail merge dialog select the document type as Letters & click Next :

Step 5: Select use the current document & click Next: Select recipients
Step 6: Select the Type a new list & click Create button
Step 7: In the New Address List window give the fields that we needed & click new
entry for next entries
Step 8: Save the database with file extension .mdb and click Next: Write letter link
Step 9: Select More Items -> Insert Merge Fields -> Database fields-> select the
fields which you added and click Next: Preview your letters
Step10: Check the recipient are created properly by click next and pervious arrow

Step11:Click Next : Complete the merge link, now the recipient listed
Step 12: Save the document and stop the process

AIM:
To create a Worksheet to Enter data in database (Student)using Ms-Excel
PROCEDURE:
Step1: Open Ms-Excel by start -> All programs -> Ms Office -> Ms Excel
Step 2: Enter the data in worksheet
Step 3: To change the row select the row and right click on it and select row height
and change the height of the row
Step 4: To change the column select the column and right click on it and select
Column width and change the width of the column
Step 5: Formatting data: To change the font color, size, style, alignment chooses the
cell and Select Font group icon and bold, underline, italic.
Step 6: To sort the data select the column and click sort and filter option in editing
menu
