Note: The use percentage will grow over time as AMD StoreMI caches more data according
to your usage patterns. The cache will be frequently refreshed as your usage patterns
change and does not require any manual management.
7. If your data usage patterns have changed drastically and you want to manually flush your
cache, you can click the Clear Cache button in the Actions pane.
This may result in new data being promoted more quickly to the Cache portion of AMD
StoreMI.
You have activated AMD StoreMI.
Note: By default, AMD StoreMI will utilize the full capacity of the SSD, unless the size is
adjusted. It requires a cache of at least 8 GB.
4. Click the Create button to create an AMD StoreMI disk configuration and SSD partition per
your parameters.
5. The remaining space, the max capacity of the SSD minus the space used for the cache will
be initialized in the AMD StoreMI driver and presented to the Windows®. This space will be
labeled as Partitioned Device in AMD StoreMI, the cache portion is similarly labeled, with

the size specified in the device view. The cache device is reserved for use in the AMD
StoreMI device, only the portion allocated to the partition is made available to the OS.
Note: Some space is used by AMD StoreMI for metadata. So, the cache size plus the
partition size may not add up to the max capacity of the drive.
The space allocated from the SSD to the Partitioned Device is available to the Windows®
OS.
6. To use the space, navigate to Disk Management. Complete the steps depicted in the next
three images to format the device, add a partition, and assign a drive letter.

The partitioned space is fully accessible in Windows® and the drive letter is displayed.
7. To change the size of your cache after creating a partition, disable any AMD StoreMI
devices using the Separate function and then back up your data before proceeding to delete
all the partitions created on the specific SSD device.
Note: All the data will be erased from the partition when deleted.
You have utilized the SSD partitioning.
