“The clearest way to show what the rule of law means to us in everyday
life is to recall what has happened when there is no rule of law.”
Eisenhower

The Philippines always celebrated on June 12th. It is the National Day of the Philippines.
But before it is being enjoyed by the Filipinos, many of our ancestor suffered from the hands of
foreign people. Some are abused, raped and killed. Since then, people always fighting for
freedom, to have a law that will protect themselves.

As President Eisenhower noted, “The clearest way to show what the rule of law means
to us in everyday life is to recall what has happened when there is no rule of law.” He want to
remember us everyone that because of laws it will set limitation and give responsibilities not to
exceed our powers to others.

Some may think that laws will give burden to their life. It’s useless to them because
their actions are limited since there are respected person that will catch them if they will void
the laws. It is really helpful for us specially the low rank to have laws not only to minimize the
rumors , problems in the society but it will give discipline to each and every one to be
responsible to their actions.

Women become empower because of laws that is being set, in history women have no
right to vote , no right to have a proper education and the worse is they don’t have the right
whom to marry. They are only used to care their children and husband. Through laws that being
implemented women become empowered and some of them become leader of the nation.

We may say some times that there are laws that are against our will but good for others.
We are given our own views in regards to benefit for ourselves. Sometime we become selfish,
we may not think that others need protection and attention from the government. The good
thing is Philippines known as democratic area, everyone have a rights to speak. And because of
laws, we are empowered. We should only follow the rules, the laws in order to have a smooth
and harmonious atmosphere.

Politician set some laws for farmers, teachers, engineers and many more. All for them is
for our goods. Not only for war but also so for the good in our environment. But if we will try to
disobey we will face some consequences. And the worse is we will stay in the prison equivalent
to the years the is implemented in the laws. It is good to have laws, since it will serve as our
guard, our protector for our rights. We have to keep in our dignity through following the rules
and regulation not only in the Philippine but throughout all nations.
