Literary criticism is the study, discussion, evaluation, and interpretation of literature. It helps us understand what is important about a text, including its structure, context, what is written, and how it manipulates the reader. There are different types of literary criticism such as biographical criticism, which analyzes the relationship between an author's life and works; linguistic criticism, which focuses on the linguistic structure of a text; and sociocultural criticism, which understands literature in its larger social context.
