Tirth Chess Club Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament: 1st To 6th December 2021

The Tirth Chess Club is hosting an open FIDE rated chess tournament in Ahmedabad, India from December 1-6, 2021. There is a total prize pool of Rs. 100,000 distributed among the top finishers. The tournament will follow FIDE laws of chess in a Swiss format over 9 rounds with time controls of 90 minutes plus a 30 second increment. Special prizes will be awarded to under-1700 and under-1400 rated players. The entry fee is Rs. 1000, free for titled players, with AICF registration also required. The tournament will be held following COVID safety protocols with a maximum of 150 players.

AICF registration for the year 2021-22 is compulsory for all participants. AICF registration
fee of Rs.250/- can be paid directly through the AICF site https://prs.aicf.in/new-register

Tournament Rules:-
System of Play: The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE
Swiss System with 9 rounds.
Time Control: 90 Minutes plus 30 second increment from move 1 for entire game.

Tie Break: In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes
however will not be shared.
