In your activity notebook, copy the table, draw the ball and put a check under
the ball of Volleyball if it describes the game, then put a check under the ball of
Basketball if the nature of the game is for Basketball.

times, but individual players may not
touch the ball twice
consecutively.[
7. The ball is passed, thrown, bounced, /
batted, or
rolled from one player to another.

Activity 2: Reflection: Answer here or in another sheet of paper

1. What do you prefer between Volleyball and Basketball, why?

I’m not really a sporty type of person since I have a fragile body and is of
course prone to injury. However, if I were to choose between the two then I
would pick volleyball. I think it is less brutal than the basketball, I mean you
don’t need to run a lot back and forth in a very wide court and I think it is more
women-friendly sports.

2. What skill or traits do you have that you think will help you to perform the game?

Just like what I stated above, I am not really into sports so I don’t think I
have any skills or traits that can help me perform well in that sports but if
hitting something hard easily is considered as a trait then I guess I have one.

3. Are you ready to play Basketball or Volleyball? Why?

As I have mentioned above, I am not physically fit hence I don’t think I

am ready to play any of those sports especially that it requires your whole
body to work. Additionally, it also tends to be mentally draining sometimes.
Maybe if I start to work on my lapses, then maybe in the future I can be ready.

Activity 3: Critical Thinking

Directions: Here is some of the scenario that is usually happening in an
exercise area. I want you to put yourself in a situation and write the things that
you need to do here or use separate sheet of paper.

1. Someone is already using the equipment that you would like to use.
I will wait until he/she is done using it because it would be rude if I will interrupt
him/her, besides I could just find another equipment to use for a moment while
waiting.

2. You
are already done with the equipment you are using, what will you do to prepare the
equipment for the next user?
I will properly put it back to its place and if it became greasy or oily when I used
it then maybe I can also wash or sanitize it so the next user will be comfortable.

3. While doing the exercise on a gym, the woman next to you keeps on
talking and wanted to make friends with you.
I will talk to her because it’s great to have new a friend especially
someone who shares the same hobby or routine –exercising— like yours.
Also it’s nice to have someone to hype you up while doing weights and
other thrilling exercises.

4. You are planning to go on a gym tomorrow and need to prepare your

clothes for your workout.
I will choose comfortable and cool gym clothes, it should be
breathable and flexible like a tee or a tank top or a sports bra so that the
clothing will not trap the body heat and also provide wicking, keeping the
sweat away from the body allowing your skin to breathe.

Reflection:

1. Now that you know the facilities and equipment of Volleyball, do you
think it is easier for you to play it? Why?

When you know the facilities and equipment of the game, you tend to understand
how to play it well. When you know how to play it well, with your understanding combined
with your innate capabilities or skills, then of course it would be easier .

2. If you don’t have any equipment in Volleyball, do you have any

alternative materials or means to have one?

Well if I don’t have any equipment in Volleyball and I really love to play it,
then maybe I can do some DIY (do-it-yourself) for the equipment which may be
found in the internet or in YouTube. But I think the ball would really be necessary
since I can’t think of any possible alternatives, using the ball of the basketball
could really pretty challenging since it is painful for the hands of the player.

Directions: The following are the different skills in Volleyball. Look at the picture
and arrange the jumbled letters to get the correct answer. Write it on your
answer sheet.

1. 4.

MARFROE PASS CSREIVE

FOREARM PASS SERVICE

2. 5.

KPSINGI LBKIONGC

SPIKING BLOCKING

3.

SITETGN

SETTING

Reflection:

1. Based on the procedure in doing the different skills in Volleyball, do

you think you can perform all the skills? Why?

No, I don’t think I can perform all the skills specially those who
requires great physique and tall height like spiking and blocking because I
am quite lacking when it comes to that attributes. However, I think can
make do well in services since I am fond at hitting something, and maybe
also in passing and setting.

2. Are you excited to play the game? Why?

To be honest no, just like what I have stated from the above
questions I am not physically equipped to perform the game hence the
absence of excitement but if I’m capable of course I would love to.
Nevertheless, I am always excited to watch other people playing this
game. I admired how they can easily jump high, spike like a lighting, and
perform other skills so gracefully. In fact I have been a fan of Haikyuu for
years now which is an anime that revolves around playing volleyball.

Activity 7: Let’s Watch This

Directions: Watch this video in

YouTube
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIpwKbq02Eo&t=253s) and write down
your insights based on the discussions.

The video is undoubtedly educational, briefly highlighting the backdrop of

basketball and furthermore referenced the prominent individual who contributed
to its existence. It also defines what basketball is, its rules, regulations,
violations, and the facilities and equipment needed to play the game. They also
properly perform the game to discussed and elaborate how should it be played.
Additionally, they give emphasis to the different roles and positions of each
player in the team, as well as the skills that are commonly used throughout the
game. With everything taken into account it was it was truly instructive which
most certainly ensure that the students were educated about the sport of
basketball.
