COURSE REFLECTION
Summary of what was done
I may say it is really hard to focus during online class we to all the distractions to the surroundings as well, but at the end of
the module, I assure you that I will put myself focus and understand what is being discussed. Then I can see all the results
that I got with the quizzes and exams as well. I hope with this past course, I can execute it well in the future not just with
my future profession, but in daily activities I do in life. One thing that I also first knew about the course is that it is also all
about enhancing communication skills through technology. It also includes different kinds of ethics, how to practice our
rights to personal information, and laws for intellectual properties to protect the creators and inventions. The written works
helped students to practice critical thinking and to be respectful toward different opinions of other people, particularly in
group work because it requires open-minded discussions. During the conferences, my instructor taught us to form our own
opinion on different issues. General Elective Education has taught us a lot of topics in terms of technology and ethics.
Technology has been continuously developing throughout the years and will continue to do so. With that being said it
might cause harm at the same time if not used properly and ethically. This course then also provides knowledge in ethics
in order to prevent harm to oneself in using technology. During the conferences, my instructor taught us to form our own
opinion on different issues. To sum up, all of the conferences and activities are full of knowledge that I can apply to real-life
situations. During the Covid-19 pandemic, technology is changing the longer term of education. From using block chain
networks to computer simulations to computing, or A.I., new ideas are on their thanks to shaping the longer term of
education. this is often not a way forward for falling enrolment, financial challenges, and shutting campuses. Technology,
then, becomes a tool for active learning. Through it, learners are ready to research, communicate and solve problems.
Whenever they navigate the net, they're able to directly access an enormous library of data.
New Learning
Through it, learners are ready to research, communicate and solve problems. Whenever they
navigate the net, they're able to directly access an enormous library of data. the net offers them a
plethora of knowledge, not just text. Using computers and the Internet makes the learning process
more interesting and diverse and leads to an increase in cognitive activity. I have new learning in a
module that discussed data privacy. As a student, I admit that there were times that I became
ignorant of technology and forgot what I learned during high school. I was very careless, especially
when downloading and clicking certain links from the internet. One of the things I learned in this
course that I will never forget is simply the basic things to do to protect against viruses is always
update the devices you are using, which I always ignore because I have a second hand laptop that is
always lagged and it is very inconvenient for me to update since my laptop performance is slow. I
learned a lot regarding information privacy, it reminds me once again the idea of “think before you
click” is still relevant today. It talks about being responsible for giving your personal information to
other people to avoid identity theft or phishing and this includes the danger of the internet because of
cyber crimes/cyber attacks and how to prevent becoming a victim. I discover different kinds of
malware which is important for me to learn because now that we are in a generation of technology I
must learn to protect myself against such viruses by always updating my device. This technology can
be used as a tool to scam or harm people but ethics can be a help to at least prevent it from happening. As
the saying goes, “think, before you. click”. Ethics provides knowledge to our rights and how to properly
practice it and to know when we are in the wrong. Ethics teaches not to give-out very personal/ private
information easily as it may be used out of their advantage. Technology may be too useful and entertaining
but that does not guarantee safety so ethics reminds us to be more cautious. With the development of
technology, skills to do bad on the internet are also developing.
Personal Reaction / Reflection
I learned quite a few things and I became more cautious about what I click on the internet and I
always update the old laptop that I am using which saves me more time and increases my
productivity more. This course has helped me improve my side of being tech-savvy and a techie that
will help me basically through everything with the technology that helps us do things easier. I had a
hard time communicating with my group mates and expressing my thoughts about the course, and I
am a bit frustrated that I did not do an advanced reading because I had to submit my plates to my
other courses, so I only had time to review before exams and quizzes, despite these difficulties I
went through, I am proud of myself that I passed all of the requirements on time and most of my
scores are passed. It is interesting and fun to study because the discussion and topics are relevant
that can be applied to real-life problems and it developed my critical thinking skills which also helped
me to articulate my ideas effectively. Thanks to this course, I am more educated on how to be a
responsible netizen and I am aware of what should I post and should not post online. Being a
energetic student this course somehow also improved my communication skills through the given
group assignments because I have to interact with my group mates. This course also challenged
me the same as my architecture major courses as I have to read a lot and memorize terms while I
have ongoing plates that have the same due dates. On the other hand, I always make sure that I
cope-up with the requirements of this course and always do my best. General Elective Education 2
is what I could say that helps develop a lot in me, including my critical thinking skills. We have a
different approach to different circumstances that tells a lot about our morals and values, that is why
this lesson requires deep understanding. Thanks to this course, I am more educated on how to be a
responsible netizen and I am aware of what should I post and should not post online.
