SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) is an important SAP ERP module that includes
business processes for selling, shipping, and billing a product. SAP SD's key
sub-modules are Customer and Vendor Master Data, Sales, Delivery, Billing, Pricing,
and Credit Management, and it is tightly integrated with SAP MM and SAP PP.
2. SAP MM (Materials Management) is a SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) module
that allows businesses to manage materials, inventory, and warehouses. SAP MM's
primary goal is to ensure that materials are always kept in proper quantities and that
there are no shortages or gaps in the organization's supply chain. It also assists supply
chain professionals and other SAP users in completing goods purchases in a timely and
cost-effective manner, as well as dealing with day-to-day changes in these processes.
3. Production planning is the process of matching demand with manufacturing capacity in
order to develop production and procurement schedules for finished goods and
component materials. SAP PP is a critical SAP module. It monitors and records the
manufacturing process flows, such as planned and actual costs. Also included are goods
movements resulting from the conversion of raw materials to semi-finished goods.
4. Service management (SM) is considered a separate module in and of itself, but it is
typically used in conjunction with the Plant Maintenance and Customer Service modules
for after-sales equipment servicing.
5. SAP Quality Management (QM) is a SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) component
that assists businesses in implementing and running quality control processes. It is
intended to prevent defects, allow for continuous process improvement, and to establish
long-term quality control programs.
6. SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) is a software application that manages all
maintenance activities within a company. The Plant Maintenance module includes key
activities such as inspection, notifications, corrective and preventive maintenance,
repairs, and other measures to keep the technical system running optimally.
7. SAP HR, also known as SAP SuccessFactors, is used for all aspects of human capital
management, from HR administration to employee experience management. SAP HR
modules include payroll, time and attendance, onboarding, training, performance
management, workforce analytics, recruiting, and many other functions.
8. SAP FI is an acronym for Financial Accounting, and it is one of the most important
modules of SAP ERP, used to store an organization's financial data. SAP FI assists in
analyzing a company's financial situation in the market. It can communicate with other
SAP modules such as SAP SD, SAP PP, SAP MM, SAP SCM, and so on.
9. SAP Controlling (CO) is another important SAP module that an organization can use. It
facilitates the coordination, monitoring, and optimization of all processes within an
organization. SAP CO entails tracking both the consumption of production factors and
the services provided by a company.
10. Fixed Asset Management features in SAP Business One allow you to: Assign and track
various attributes for specific assets, as well as define asset classes across your
organization. Depreciation runs can be automated using various depreciation methods,
with monthly or daily calculation rules available.
11. Enterprise Controlling, an important module in the SAP Business Suite, is an effective
SAP ERP tool that provides automated applications for carrying out the tasks of
controlling the goings-on in a commercial organization. It is in charge of determining
whether all tasks are being completed in accordance with plans and with the goal of
achieving company goals. SAP EC components integrate efficient controlling techniques
for making an organization work as a single unit and are quickly becoming indispensable
tools in the hands of businesses all over the world.
12. SAP Project System (PS) is an application that is part of SAP's Project and Portfolio
Management solution. Project System assists in project management throughout the
entire project lifecycle, from project inception to detailed plan preparation, project
execution, and completion.
