OPERATIONAL PLAN No. 21 S. 2022

I. Title of Activity: Seminar on Adolescent Pregnancy
II. Implementing Entity: College of Health Sciences
III. Date:               February 19, 2022
IV. Venue: Manzante, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur
V. Beneficiaries:             Female 8, Male 6

Rationale:  Adolescent pregnancy remains a major contributor to maternal and child mortality.
Complications relating to pregnancy and childbirth are the leading cause of death for girls aged 15-19
globally. Pregnant girls and adolescents also face other health risks and complications due to their
immature bodies. Babies born to younger mothers are also at greater risk. For many adolescents,
pregnancy and childbirth are neither planned, nor wanted. In countries where abortion is prohibited or
highly restricted, adolescents typically resort to unsafe abortion, putting their health and lives at risk.
Adolescent pregnancy can also have negative social and economic effects on girls, their families and
communities. Unmarried pregnant adolescents may face stigma or rejection by parents and peers as well
as threats of violence. Girls who become pregnant before age 18 are also more likely to experience
violence within a marriage or partnership.

VI. Objectives:  By this activity we will able to:

1. To raise awareness amongst adolescents of the value of life planning
2. To assess the awareness of teenagers on the prevention of teenage pregnancy

PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION:
PROJECT NAME: COMMUNITY IMPROPER WASTE DISPOSAL
LOCATION: Brgy. Manzante, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur
PROPONENT: The Sangguniang Barangay of Brgy. Manzante in the Municipality of Magsingal
TARGET DATE: January 29, 2022 to March 30, 2022
TARGET BENEFECIARIES: Brgy. Manzante Community
PROPOSED BUDGET: Three million Pesos

NATURE AND BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT PROPOSAL

Waste poses a threat to public health and the environment if it is not stored, collected, and disposed of
properly. The perception of waste as an unwanted material with no intrinsic value has dominated attitudes
towards disposal. This study investigates the domestic waste practices, waste disposal, and perceptions
about waste and health in an urban community. People are suffering environmental dilemmas such as
global warming, flash floods, and etc. and the causes of these problem is the misbehavior of the people
towards waste management. Some people are careless to the environment by just in throwing their
garbage everywhere they want. They do not think of the possible results of their actions on the
environmental as especially on health. The soil, water, and air pollution can all be a result of improper
waste disposal. Disposing of waste has huge environmental impacts and can cause serious problems.
Proper garbage disposal is important to ensure everyone's safety from possible health hazards. People will
suffer in the next years of existence if we continue this kind of activity.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To protect the health and wellbeing of people by providing an affordable waste collection service.
2. To stabilize the quantity of waste disposed to landfill and then reduce this volume.
3. To reduce and eliminate adverse impacts of waste on human health and the environment.
4. To increase recycling and reuse and to convert the remaining waste into electricity.

RELEVANCES:
Instead of purchasing those plastic pop bottles, find a way that you can buy things that are more
environmentally friendly. Some of this include bottle openers, calendars, coloring books, and much more.
It is very sad to know that many lives have been sacrificed because of these calamities that have come.
Many places in the Philippines are down to flood every time when typhoon comes and worst, a large
number of families have lost their shelters and have nothing left for them. Their wealth was ruined by
storms, floods, etc. We are experiencing very hot weather because of greenhouse effect and global
warming. Many kinds of disease occur because of untidy surroundings. Others can no longer smell the
breath of fresh air. All of this are the effects of improper waste management. So, what are you waiting for,
stop improper disposal. And we do the Reduce, Reused, Recycle for the betterment of our country.
