To Whom It May Concern,

This is a letter of recommendation for Ms. Taylor Garber. I am very
supportive of her application to pursue an elementary teaching position. I
have had the pleasure of working with Taylor in the past year at Michigan
State University as her instructor for TE 802: Reflection and Inquiry in
Teaching Practice I: Literacy. This letter will focus on Taylor’s strengths as an
educator.

Ms. Garber has demonstrated passion and dedication to the field of
education. She cares deeply about her students and collaborates regularly
with her peers and others at her school placement. She exhibits
professionalism on a regular basis. Ms. Garber is always eager to learn and
develop the deepest understanding of how children learn and develop. She is
always going above and beyond to learn more about how she can meet the
needs of individual students.

Ms. Garber has demonstrated acting as an advocate for social justice.
She has led an after-school book club that focuses on students acting against
racism through interdisciplinary, project-based learning at her school
placement. She hosted a celebration night where students were able to share
their learnings with families and community members. This dedication to
College of social justice was also seen in her work in TE 802. Her reading and writing
Education lessons/units always had an interdisciplinary tie to social justice. She aimed
to teach students literacy content but also drove social justice, social
Teacher Education emotional, and social studies content through her literacy focused lessons.
Her planning was always thoughtful, detailed, cohesive, and standards
