 Accepting one’s physique
_____Achieving emotional independence of adults
_____Preparing for marriage and family life
 Preparing for an economic career
 Acquiring values and an ethical system to guide behavior
 Desiring and achieving socially responsibility behavior
Processing questions

1. Being in Grade 11/12, what are the tasks expected of you? Rate yourself from
1-10 (10 as the highest)

ANSWER:

Being in Grade 11 is a period of life in which you have to explore the different aspects of
life such as home, family, school, work, and one’s role. The development tasks that are
expected of me are; adjust to the physical changes, I should have built confidence and
acceptance to my physical appearance already, adapt sexually and established my sexual
identity, at this period, it is important to establish relationships and establish the values
of sexual behavior. Thinking ahead, I should be able to understand others’ point of view
or opinions, thinking of others and discern the different situations. I must have
developed the sense of responsibility since we are starting to be independent and must
continue to have a connection to our parents. And finally, I must realize my commitment
to my family, community and citizenship, know the advantages or disadvantages of the
transition to college, work, or independent living. I rate myself 7 out of 10 as to whether I
have accomplished those.

2. As you are in Grade 11, you are in the stage of transition, right? From high
school to college, from being an adolescent to young adult. How do you feel
about this transition? What is your turning point?

ANSWER:

I think it immediately evokes a sense of wanting to go back. You start pausing trying to
remember exactly what it looked back. You start to realize that you can’t just let the days
drift by in front of you, because soon it will all be over. You start to wonder which
classmates will go to what college, who you’ll see again, who there you could have been
best friends with but you never bothered to get introduced to. It's definitely a new
feeling, but the transition doesn't start your junior year in high school and it doesn't end
that year either, It's very much an ongoing event that I still feel myself going through as a
freshman in college. I think the transition is overall a feeling of increasing responsibility
for yourself and in different areas of your life. It's also about learning to handle these
responsibilities that makes the transition tricky sometimes. Sometimes it's easy to wish
for the days when I didn't have to think about what I'm doing with my life, life seemed
simpler as a freshman in high school. But I think the new responsibilities I have are also
exciting and are helping me to grow into someone who one day will be independent and
who will be more skilled at handling the responsibilities I have. So overall, I guess I feel
responsible and excited. I think this will be my biggest challenge yet—I’m not very good
with maturing or growing up and I tend to fear the next steps and changes. But it won’t
be the hardest challenge I go through, and I’ve been through plenty of challenges before,
maybe this one won’t be too hard.

3. Do you think you are ready in this transition which may mean more
responsibilities and greater accountability? If no, what are the expected
tasks you need to work on? If yes, what are the ways so you can better plan
for the future.

ANSWER:

Yes. I think I am ready for this transition. My ways so I can better plan for the future will
be to be a honest decent caring member of society, to use my common sense, to use my
thinking abilities, to learn how to listen, use and apply good sound morals, values in
daily life to benefit and protect myself and those around, identifying the right goals,
developing a plan to reach those goals, be brave enough to take small steps forward,
being patient, thinking realistically, and don’t be afraid to take risks.
ACTIVITY 2 COMPLICATED

From activity 1, what are the tasks where you experience hardships or you feel challenging.
Explain why.
1. Achieving a masculine or feminine social roles

 Encouraging myself to assert more than I have in the past

2. Achieving mature relations with both sexes

 I am socially awkward person and then, some people misinterpret me as a bad one

3. Accepting one's physique

 I am not confident of my body

Processing questions

1. Why do you think that you experience difficulties in facing the

developmental tasks?

ANSWER:

 I think difficulties are there to make us stronger. I notice that when about to achieve
something that's when challenges come. We prepare us for the future ahead. For
with great power comes great responsibility. Developmental tasks test my courage if
I will give up or will continue to fight for it.

2. As Grade 11, you have encountered those challenges, right? How was it?
How do you feel about these challenges?

ANSWER:

 Yes, I have been encountered those challenges like stress, felt pressured, low grades,
having no confidence. Of course, I felt so down, tired and sad cause I feel like I’m
alone and no one is willing to help me. But now, I realize that if you're experiencing
bad things it is part of our life, to learn, to be strong and continue to pursue the goals
in life. This experiences will test me if I'll easily give up on my dreams and if I'll
easily losing the trust of myself.

3. Do you think that you can surpass those tasks even though there are
difficulties? If yes, what can you do to surpass it. And if no, what are the
ways so that you will obtain success.

ANSWER:

 Yes, I can surpass those tasks even though there are difficulties. Because I have
people who surrounds me in the good and hard times. What can I do to surpass it is
by praying to Him, telling to him what I encountered difficulties in life. Talking to
the people who I trust and believes on me. And believing in myself that I can surpass
these difficulties in life.

narrow-minded and keeps on teasing others to make themselves happy. But, when it
comes to them, they’re pretend to be the victim to receive some sympathy from other
people. How disgusting they are can be.
Now, I never forget what I experience on them and move-on because moving-on
means new good experiences, memories and opportunities to come. I’ve learn that
sometimes, we don’t need to be so good to other people to the point that we are actually
abused because we are kind to them. And lastly, I learn how to forgive even though they
didn’t say sorry to me at the first place. Who I am not to forgive them, I’m not God to
not forgive them but the experiences that I received to them, I’ll never forget it.
