Among these three, audio conferencing is the
most commonly used techniques in
educational institutions.

o Consider time zones before scheduling
the call to make sure it’s convenient
for all participants.
o Provide all of the necessary dial-in
information, including various time
zone translations, at least one day
before the call.
o Consider recording the call for people
unable to attend or to help in creating a
meeting recap after the call.
o Send out a meeting reminder 2-3 days
prior to the call.

 Preparation of material:
o Educational teleconferencing requires
the use of printed material including
charts and diagrams.
o Plan to use a landline telephone, if
possible, to ensure good quality (and
encourage participants to do the same).
o Get a good headset if you plan to use a
VoIP connection and test it prior to the
call.
o Limit as much background noise as
possible.
o Know how to mute your connection
and tell participants how to do the
same.
o Avoid speaker phone to avoid echoes
and clarity challenges.
o Test your connection and call features
(such as recording) prior to the live
call.
o Have a backup method to connect to
the call, just in case.

 Preparing the students:


o Preparing students for an active
participation is a pre-requisite for
the success of teleconferencing.
The student should know in
advance about the content to be
discussed and the objective to be
achieved.

 Conduct the actual session:


o The session should be interactive so
that all the students can actively
participate and learn as much as they
can from the conference session.
o Appoint a moderator to make
introductions, keep on-task and
facilitate the call.
o Appoint someone to take notes during
the call.
o Set ground rules for the call if there
will be more than three participants to
avoid talking over each other.
o Start on time, and delay no longer than
five minutes if participants are late to
dial in.

After the conference is over, the necessary


feedback should be obtained from the
students. This will also help the students to
know their performance. The session can be
recorded so that it could help the students who
could not participate in the conference.

SUMMARY:- A teleconference (also known as a video conference) is a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which
allow two or more locations to interact via two-way video and audio transmission simultaneously. There are three types of
teleconference and the process of teleconference has four stages. Organization of teleconference has some advantages and some
limitations.

CONCLUSION:- Usages of modern technology in the field of education is inevitable in the changing scenario and educational
teleconference can be a valuable medium for education.
