b) What are the memorandums executed with the contractors and community for the preservation
of the environment?
As part of the Environmental Compliance Certificate issued by DENR and requirement for the Board of
Investments, the company entered into a Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement with DENR-Guimaras
and the Barangay Council of Tanglad, Sibunag to support the Upland Rehabilitation Project under the
National Greening Program and Jointly undertake the plantation establishment, maintenance and
protection inside the 27 hectare Arboretum Project in Tanglad, SIbunag.
Moreover, the company is actively participating in coastal clean ups and tree planting activities by the
government.

a) What laws were executed by the government for the benefit of the community that are
being practiced by the company?
3. What are the adverse effects of the wind farm to the community and people?
As with all energy supply options, wind energy can have adverse environmental impacts, including the
potential to reduce, fragment, or degrade habitat for wildlife, fish, and plants.
However, due to the micro siting studies conducted in the windfarm prior to its construction, the natural
topography of the area was preserved. This also paved way for the increase in tourist arrival and
livelihood opportunities in the community.
