Exception Status
If a situation occurs that prevents the process from continuing as planned, the system will set an exception status
to notify you.

The exception status for a step is shown on the dashboard. It is available for the Start Step and End Step
settings. It is only available for the following conditions and in the following cases:

1. Start Step

Condition: On Start Date and When Previous Step Is Completed

This exception occurs when the previous step is not completed by the start date you entered.

2. End Step

Condition: On End Date and When Tasks Are Completed

This exception occurs when the tasks are not completed by the end date you entered.

This field is a free text field. You can enter an exception status of your own choice. However, if you leave this
field blank, the system will display the default statuses Delayed (if the previous step is not completed by the
start date) or Past Due (if the tasks are not completed by the end date).

If the situation that led to the exception status is resolved, for example, if the tasks are completed the next day,
the exception status will disappear and the process can continue as planned.
