interview at http://lwn.net/Articles/47510/. What clues do you find
in this interview regarding his view of the job of project leader and
how he leads projects?

Ans-

The aim of this project is divided into two terms as the first is to change
the ability to run this project on low-end computer systems and Second
objective is to give complete support for all Norwegian languages,
including the minority ones.

Now the role of Knut Yrvin:

He started this project by targeting the applications of this project. As

this project will be used in schools of norways it is very important to
persuade them to use skolelinux if no body uses this project then whole
idea will collapse. Now the question is how he will persuade teachers?
answer is by his strategy "seeing is believing" he given them trials to
understand the project.
Now the peoples who were working for this project they needed fund
to travel from school to school and Knut Yrvin's responsibility to
arrange funding for the project and he got the funding from norway
governement and NUUG Foundation.

Next thing was to handle the biggest market competitor Microsoft, as

the most of schools were using Windows OS if they changed using
Skolelinux it will directly effect the economical growth of microsoft.
Hence to handle this he had attended meeting with Microsoft team and
cleared their objective.

Considering technical aspects he had decided the base Debian

GNU/Linux as a base for distribution.
