LESSON PLAN

Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of fractions,


decimals and percentage
Performance Standard The learners are able to perform operations addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division accurately; and solve
problem involving fractions, decimals and percent related to
business.

B. Lesson Proper

B.1. Activity/Motivation
The class will be divided into 4 groups. The entire class will be shown
four (4) pizzas (or pizza-like picture) each divided equally into 2, 4, 6 and 8
slices. Group 1 will be asked to get 1 slice from a pizza divided into 2; Group 2
will be asked to get 2 slices from a pizza divided into 4; Group 3 will be asked
to get 5 slice from a pizza divided into 6; and Group 4 will be asked to get 3
slices from a pizza divided into 8. Each group shall be asked to tell how many
slices they got from the number of slices. The teacher will write the number
of slices the group got above a bar and the total number of slices below the
bar. The class shall then be asked the following question: What do we put
above the bar and below the bar?

B.3. Analysis

The teacher will give the final generalization of the activity and relate
the activity to the topic, and then discuss such topic further.
