established as “The Native Stock Brokers’ Association” in 1875. BSE is the first to be granted permanent recognition under the

8 About MAKAUT
The Government of West Bengal set up an expert committee on December 31, 1998, under the Chairmanship of Ashesh Prasad
Mitra, Eminent Scientist to explore the necessity and scope for establishment of an Engineering / Technology University in the
stste of West Bengal.
The University came into operation formally with the assumption of the office of the first Vice Chancellor on January 15, 2001 as
a sequel to the promulgation of The West Bengal University of Technology Act, 2001, under West Bengal Act XV of 2000 passed
by the West Bengal Legislature. The University started its academic programme, from July 16, 2001 following a Notification from
the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal dated June 15, 2001 through the affiliation of Engineering
and Management Institutions / Colleges and has entered the eighth year of its functioning. The University is included in Section
2F and also in Section 12B of UGC and recipient of UGC Grant.
The University wants to grow nurturing innovative / novel ideas that would touch all segments of the society especially the
marginalized ones. We look at technology from a broad social perspective and are organizing postgraduate courses in basic
and applied sciences. The University has introduced new courses in emerging areas to develop, enhance and higher education.

India has a diversified financial sector, which is undergoing rapid expansion. The sector comprises of commercial banks,
insurance companies, non-banking financial companies, co-operatives, pension funds, mutual funds and other smaller financial
entities. The financial sector in India is predominantly a banking sector with commercial banks accounting for more than 60 per
cent of the total assets held by the financial system. India is today one of the most vibrant global economies, on the back of
robust banking and insurance sectors. The country is projected
to become the fifth largest banking sector globally by 2022, as Skill Attitude

The admission committee takes into account candidate’s educational qualification and performance in entrance test & personal
Interview. On successful evaluation, an offer letter is issued to the candidate stating the admission guidelines & fee structure.

Young people, today, face more responsibilities and challenges than ever before. They now bear more of the costs of their own
education, they also tend to borrow large sums of money at an early age. Hence it is critical for them to be financially literate at
an early age. However their curriculum is already overloaded and with decreasing attention spans, conventional approaches to
teaching will not work, which is why we, at BSE Institute Ltd., thought of devising a fun filled national level competition to help

Institute hosted the HR Conclave 2.0 as a part of this endeavour. By leveraging the experiences and perspectives of pioneering
professionals, it intended to facilitate the exchange of ideas and opinions on the dynamically changing role of Human Resources
in the corporate world. We had major focus on the theme - Redefining HR in the Digital World.
HR Conclave 2019 was a platform for corporate thought leaders from diverse backgrounds who came together, interacted and
communicated their thoughts on the ever-evolving face of the Human Resources industry.

Stock Torero
Every year we at BSE Institute host Stock Torero, a national level trading competition. Students from various business schools
including institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, N L Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research, Prin. L.N. Welingkar
Institute of Management Development and Research, NMIMS, VGSOM –IIT, HR College of Commerce and Economics, Institute
for Technology & Management, R.K Institute of Management & Research, Chetna’s Institute of Management & Research, Guru
Nanak Institute of Management and Jai Hind College participate in the intraday simulated trading competition.
The groundwork for the competition starts months before the D-Day, committees are formed and work is divided among
different departments. There are 3 major departments, the media & Research department takes charge of all the news and feeds
that are broadcasted during the trading session. The jobbers from jobbing team work on the trading day with the traders. And,
the third committee – Marketing is responsible for visiting different colleges and inviting the students.
The competition creates a virtual working environment for stock trading. Participants experience the real trading environment
with live news feed and market fluctuations. They test their trading strategies, decision making and analytical skills.

Dalal Street Lit Fest Exchange, an exchange of Words, Thoughts & Expressions amalgamate the two diverse world. The fest
presents an array of workshops to choose from, talks and discussions in the presence of some truly inspirational personalities,
& also performances by aspiring artists of all genres. The fest brings together Artists, industry bigwigs, thinkers, humanitarians,
philanthropist, business leaders, journalists, entertainers & emerging talents under one roof. Dalal Street Lit Fest Exchange 2018
features engrossing panel discussions, exclusive book launches, talk sessions & workshops.
Held at the iconic International Convention Hall of Bombay Stock Exchange, Dalal Street Lit Fest Exchange, marks a resurgence
of literary cultural. The lit fest is primarily focused on literature but clasps culture and ideas more broadly with interesting panels
every year on a varied range of topics including fiction, nonfiction, literary, politics, Business, Finance, history, society, poetry,
science, mathematics, philosophy and religion.

Torque
Torque is one of the most eventful evening with mixed feeling of happiness & nostalgia at BSE Institute. The graduating
student get the opportunity to get valuable insights from dignitaries like Mr. Sudhakar Rao, Chairman, BSE Institute Ltd,
Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE Ltd & Mr. Ambarish Datta, MD & CEO, BSE Institute Ltd. We felicitate our students
with certificates & trophies and celebrate their memorable journey with BIL. The convocation ceremony is followed by cultural
event which has stunning performances by students & staff.
Torque is the most important day in the life of BIL students as it marks the culmination of their academic life. The graduands
come and receive their degrees and awards for their achievements. They give speeches and share their experiences. During the
annual flagship event of the institution the Alumini Meet is also held to take the walk down the corridors of nostalgia. It is one
of the most remarkable evenings that comprises Convocation, cultural show, prize distribution & reunion.
