How to Create iCharts in SAP MII

Applies to:
SAP MII Version 12.0.3 Buildc(106). For more information, visit the Manufacturing homepage.

Summary
Using SAP MII one can create visualization objects for representing comparative data. At plant side SAP MII
provides handy solution to provide customized visual displays for eg Charts, to pictorially represent the
runtime data.
The goal of this article is to guide you through the steps, code samples of how to create iCharts using SAP
MII.
This post can be quite useful for beginners who wanna learn MII on their own.

Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a step by step guide to create an iChart .

Description
The configuration steps are as follows:
1. Login to SAP MII, navigate to your folder where you wish to create the iChart

2. Right click on the folder to bring up the Context Menu. From the context menu select New>iChart
The display looks like the following:

3. The following menu appears for customizing the chart :

4. Double click on Chart Area from the menu. Select the type of chart you wish to create from the drop
down list for eg: Line, Bar etc. For this example select line.

5. Double click on title option from the menu and enter a relevant title for the chart.

6. Double click on Data Mapping option then select load Query template to specify the query (which u
must have created earlier) which will fetch the data to be used for display in the chart.

7. Use the provided options to customize the display. For eg: x-axis values, legend etc.

8. Save the chart and execute. You will get the following display.
