 Sector Analysis – Jan’22 – Increased & New Positions
Equity markets experienced high volatility in January 2022 where VIX touched 23. While SIP inflows from retail investors remained strong for the month, FPIs
continued to be sellers. Two key sectors which remained at the buying forefront for domestic fund managers were Financials and IT. Within financials HDFC Bank,
ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, HDFC and IndusInd Bank were the key picks whereas HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra from technology sector were amongst the top 10 stocks
in the large cap category bought by MFs in January 2022. On the other hand, FPIs primarily sold stocks in the IT space during January 2022.

Sector Analysis – Jan’22 – Decreased & Sold Out
Fund managers lowered positions in the energy sector during January 2022, were ONGC and BPCL was amongst the top 10 stocks in large cap category where MFs
were net sellers. Apart from energy, metal stocks such as Hindalco, JSW steel, Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel in communications segment were the top selling
companies by MFs during the month.

Media and communications sector experienced selling during January 2022, where Bharti Airtel in large cap while PVR Ltd. and Affle (India) Ltd. in the small cap.
category were amongst the top selling stocks. Chemicals was another space where selling pressure was seen including stocks like Pidilite Industries (Large cap),
Deepak Nitrite (Mid-cap) and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals & JB Chemicals (Small Cap) during the month.
