Task 1
1. What did you discover after your research?
Social order criticisms are eliminated from an ethnocentric standpoint. It can boost a person's
commitment to a community, country, or society. Ethnocentrism has the potential to strengthen social bonds.
It has the potential to boost self-esteem.
2. Can you see some observations similar to our own culture?
Alternative Q: Which countries have similar ethnocentric views to
us? Which countries have different ethnocentric views from us?
I believe I did not do enough research into other countries' cultures, thus I am unable to
determine which countries are culturally comparable to the Philippines. However, I can suggest Japan and
China because some Asian countries share similar traditions and values. The ethnocentric prejudice of
Christian Filipinos and the ethnocratic tendencies of the Philippine government is possibly best encapsulated
in the country's most recognizable symbol: its name. Not only do the Philippines and Filipino reflect what
Muslims do not wish to be: Christian, Westernized, and even colonial.
3. Why do you think they have these ethnocentric practices? What benefit
can they get from doing these?
When people use their own culture as a criterion for judging other cultures, they frequently
believe that their culture is superior and perceive other civilizations as inferior and weird. Ethnocentrism can
also aid in the explanation of identity construction.
4. As a Filipino, what practices or values you are proud of that are worth
sharing with others?
As a Filipino, I believe that being kind, polite, and respectful are the most valuable virtues in which I may take
pride. It is absolutely worth sharing with others. Spreading generosity and being kind to all living and non-
living things is a method for each individual to set themselves free.

Prolifically Publish and Speak

Writing about your thoughts on culture for an internal or external blog or other publication in your industry is
a terrific method to share your knowledge with a wide range of people. While having your own website is
advantageous, take use of platform-enhancing communities such as Squidoo, which allows you to
establish a topic-specific page. Participate actively in industry conferences and association meetings in
your profession as well. Speaking at these events exposes groups of potential followers to the subtleties of
your culture. Record your sessions on video and share clips on your website or social media.
