Sim Tronics Installation

SIMTRONICS INSTALLATION

INSTRUCTOR MACHINE:

1. Log in as local admin


2. Put the latest version of the DSS-100 CD into the drive
3. Install with the “Network Instructor Operator” scheme
4. Install the Instructor package on the menu with the default settings*
5. Install the Operator package on the menu with the default settings (it may prompt you to
overwrite previous files, if so, click ‘yes’)
6. Install Windows Services with defaults, ensuring that the “Documentation” check-box is
checked
7. Install the Sentinel Driver with the default settings
8. Replace the DSS-100 disc with the keyboard driver software located in the keyboard box
9. In the dialog box for the driver, click “Install” and use default settings
10. Restart the machine
11. After logging in to the administrator account, don’t plug in the USB IntelliSense Keyboard
12. On the system tray, left-click on the Green or Red keyboard icon, then click on the
Control Panel option at the top
13. After the applet comes up, click on the “$Application” tab
14. In the new tab, click the “$Add” button and on the list that will come up, select “Windows
Explorer” and “OK”
15. Next, click on the “$Attach” button, navigate to “C:\Program
Files\Simtronics\TD3000.OWS”
16. Navigate to the “$Mode” tab and click on $Mode_One_Overlay button, add the
“C:\Program Files\Simtronics\TD3000.OWS” again
17. Click “$Done”
18. Now you can plug in the keyboard, be sure that the keyboard manager icon in the
system tray turns green
19. Plug in the purple USB Dongle
20. To test the system, open “Session Manager” and click “Start Operator”
21. The last name will be “Instructor”, and the password “001”
22. If you get a “Cannot Change Visible...” error, scale down the screen resolution to
1280X1024 and try again
23. In the window that appears, click on “Distillation” and press keys on the keyboard to
ensure it is working properly
