What important lessons do we learn as children?

Life is a process of learning and growth, for kids and adults. It is necessary for children to learn

how to deal with difficulties and become successful adults. This essay will analyze valuable lessons

that children learned when they were young.

Teaching children to be responsible provides a strong foundation when they enter an adverse

life. Children are well informed about how to become responsible individuals by lessons that they

learn at school or especially from their parents. Parents are role models, kids have a tendency to

imitate their parents. Parents can model responsible behavior by demonstrating how to do things

correctly and conscientiously. For instance, parents constantly keep things in order and explain why

they have to do it, so your child learns why being responsible is necessary. As a result, it may help

the kids to develop a positive attitude towards work and take pleasure in their accomplishments.

Respect is one of the most crucial factors a child may have. Teaching children how to respect,

enhance abilities to appreciate others, and be skillful in communication. According to Vietnamese

tradition, when meeting the elderly, the young are expected to cross their arms and lower their heads

to show their full respect. Moreover, children may know how to express their views or point out

others' mistakes without making them feel disrespected and embarrassed. As a result, teaching your

child respect will allow them to communicate in a way that is effective and will encourage them to

take responsibility for their own mistakes, and better tolerate the mistakes of others.

It is considered a crucial lesson to learn how to forgive. Children can experience the different

ways to deal with the hurt that results from conflicts, including the option of forgiveness. After learning

forgiveness, some children resulted in performing better at school, conducting fewer problems, and

feeling more positive about their parents and teachers. Siblings in a family, for example, when they

fight each other for new toys and unfortunately, they break them or another child is hurt. They are

taught to stop the fight, say apologize, and promise not to make this mistake again. The ability to

forgive others is important for peace of mind and for being happy in life.

In conclusion, responsibility, respect, forgiveness play a pivotal role in developing positive

characteristics and maturing into a successful adult. If children do not gain valuable lessons, they

may struggle with difficulties, cannot handle adversity.
