1. CNC Guide Operating Environment
The following environment is required to use CNC Guide trial version.

■ OS: One of the following operation systems


 Windows 10 (32-bit version, 64-bit version) Version 1803 or higher
 Windows 8/8.1 Pro (32-bit version, 64-bit version)
 Windows 7 Professional (32-bit version, 64-bit version)

■ Software
 .NET Framework 3.5

■ Hardware
 CPU: Hyper-Threading supported
 Pentium4 2.8 GHz or higher, or Intel Core Duo 1.83 GHz or higher
 Memory: 2 GB or more
 Free hard disk space: 8.0 GB or more
 Display resolution: 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) or higher
(Recommended 1920*1080(Full-HD) or higher resolution)
 DVD drive
 One or more USB ports

2. Installation
Install CNC guide as following procedure.
1) Download CNC GUIDE software from FANUC network Server MyFANUC.

2) Extract the zip file you downloaded at 1) in a folder of your choice.


3) Close all the running programs.
4) Open the folder where you extracted the files at 2)
5) Execute “AutoRun.exe” to start the installation.
6) Select your language and click [OK]

7) Click [Next]

8) Input the following information.
- User Name
- Organization

9) Click [Next]

10) In the Select Destination Folder window, specify a folder to install the CNC GUIDE program to

 Don’t install the software in the root folder (\)
 Two-byte characters cannot be used for a folder name.

11) Click [Next]

12) In the Select Setup Type window, specify the setup type.
- Complete : Program with all features
- Custom : Program with specific features

13) Select Custom and Click [Next]

Note
If you want to use all CNC models, please select “Complete”.
If you use FANUC CNC first time, selection of the following two CNC
type is recommended to simplify the configurations.
­ FS30i-B iHMI
­ FS0i-F PLUS iHMI

14) If only FS30i-B iHMI and FS0i-F PLUS iHMI are required, select "This feature will not be
available" or "This feature will be installed when required" for all other CNC models.

Make sure to install the item “Setting Management Tool”

15) Click [Next]

16) In the Start installation window, click [Install].

17) The Installation in Progress window appears.

18) In the installation Wizard Complete window, click [Finish].

3. Setup
Use the following procedure to configure and use CNC Guide after installation.

3.1 Setting After Installation


When CNC Guide is installed, data are saved to the following folders
Model Destination folder
Series 30i-MODEL B iHMI C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS30i-B iHMI
Series 0i-MODEL F PLUS iHMI C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS0i-F Plus iHMI

Use the following procedure to access the folder where data are save.
1) Display [Control Panel] from [Start Menu].
2) Click [Folder Option] File Explorer Options
3) Click the [View] tab.
4) Click “Show hidden files, folders, and drive”.
5) Click [OK].

3.2 Setting License Key
Set the CNC Guide license key. License Serve IP address is 220.110.187.213

Note
Before setting the license key, you need to connect to the Internet.
You need to have computer administrator rights to complete this step.

Set the environment variable NSP_HOST


1) Select [System] menu from [Control Panel]
2) Click [Advanced system settings]
3) Click “Environment Variables” on “Advanced” tab.

4) Click [New…] to create a new System variable

5) Input as follows, and click [OK].
Variable name: NSP_HOST
Variable value: 220.110.187.213

6) Check the following variable setting, and click [OK]

7) Click [OK]
8) Restart your PC

Set the IP address of the license server for the CNC GUIDE
1) On the Start menu, click – [FANUC CNC GUIDE(TOOLs)] – [Setting Management Tool]

2) Click [License] Tab

3) Check “Authenticate it with to the license server”.

4) Input the IP address of the license server.

5) Click [Diagnosis]

6) Confirm license key check is OK, and click [Save] and [Close]

Note) Network setting


The license server receives a license request from CNC GUIDE on UDP6001.
It is necessary to configure the router to enable UDP 6001 communication.
Some VPN connections may block port UDP 6001.

3.3 Change CNC Screen Size and enable Panels
You can change CNC screen size and enable Operator’s Panel and MDI Panel on CNC Guide as
follows.
1) On the Start menu, click – [FANUC CNC GUIDE(TOOLs)] – [Setting Management Tool]

2) Select CNC type

3) Change “CNC Display Size” from 10.4 inch to 15 inch.

4) Change “MDI Panel” from “No Disp” to “Show”

5) Change “Machine Operator’s Panel” from “No Disp” to “Main Panel + Sub Panel A”

6) Click [Save].

3.4 Installation and Setup of sample machine configurations

This section describes how to install and setup some machine configurations data in the followings.

FANUC provides the following type of machine compositions.


Machine type CNC Configurations
2-Spindle horizontal lathe Series 0i-TF PLUS 2 Channels, 6 Axes, 2 Spindles
4-axes vertical machining center Series 0i-MF PLUS 1 Channel, 4 Axes, 1 Spindle
2-spindle lathe with B-axis Series 30i-B 2 Channels, 8 Axes, 2 Spindles
5-axis machining center Series 30i-B 1 Channel, 5 Axes, 1 Spindle

3.4.1 Setup Series 0i-TF Plus for Lathes with 2 Spindles

Setup each machine composition files as follows.


1) Download “0i-FP_iHMI_Sample-Lathe-2Spindles.zip” from MyFANUC site.
2) Extract the zip file you downloaded at 1) in a folder of your choice.
3) Open the folder where you extracted the files at 2)
4) Copy all files to “C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS0i-F Plus iHMI\MachineSetting”

3.4.2 Setup Series 0i-TF Plus for 4 Axes milling

Set up each machine composition files as follows.


1) Download “0i-FP_iHMI_Sample-Milling-4Axes.zip” from MyFANUC site.
2) Extract the zip file you downloaded at 1) in a folder of your choice.
3) Open the folder where you extracted the files at 2)
4) Copy all files to “C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS0i-F Plus iHMI\MachineSetting”.

3.4.3 Setup Series 30i-B for 2-spindle lathe with B-axis

Set up each machine composition files as follows.


1) Download “30i-B_iHMI_Sample-Lathe-2Spindle.zip” from MyFANUC site.
2) Extract the zip file you downloaded at 1) in a folder of your choice.
3) Open the folder where you extracted the files at 2)
4) Copy all files to “C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS30i-B iHMI\MachineSetting”.

3.4.4 Setup Series 30i-B for 5-axis machining center

Set up each machine composition files as follows.


5) Download “30i-B_iHMI_Sample-Lathe-2Spindle.zip” from MyFANUC site.
6) Extract the zip file you downloaded at 1) in a folder of your choice.
7) Open the folder where you extracted the files at 2)
8) Copy all files to “C:\ProgramData\FANUC\NCGuide FS30i-B iHMI\MachineSetting”.

3.5 Start CNC Guide


Start CNC Guide as follows..
1) On the Start menu, click on folder CNC GUIDE(FS…)

2) Select “CNC GUIDE(FS…)” in one of CNC type.

3) Select machine type and click [OK].

4) Then, CNC Guide starts up.
