I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the grade 1 pupil will be able to do the following with
80% level of accuracy:
a. identify the different kind of basic lines.
b. appreciate the importance of lines in making art.
d. draw the different kind of basic lines.
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activity
a. Prayer
Stand up class for our prayer, may I request --------- to lead our prayer
Oh God Almighty Behold us thy loving children, offering thee today, our works and
studies, help us dear Lord to love our teachers and schoolmates to be diligent in our
studies that we may merit the blessing for our selves, our parents and all humanity.

Before we will start our lesson for today, lets sing a song first. Are you familiar with the
song “Line up” ( Yes sir ). Are you ready? ( Yes ) let sing.

B. Developmental Activities
a. Drill
Let’s do some activity class, I will show you different things what you are going to do is
to identify and say to me what color it is. Are you ready? ( Yes sir )

b. Review
Okay class, what was our lesson yesterday? ( Our lesson yesterday was all about
primary colors) what are the primary color? ( Blue, Yellow, and Green ) Very good.
C. Motivation
Class we will be having a group activity, you can now go to your group and what you are
going to do is to connect the dot to form the shape. In group one using the waved line
while the group two using the straight line. Are you ready? ( Yes sir )

From the group activity you have made what are the things you’ve done to form the
shape? ( We draw lines ) what are these lines? ( Curved and Straight lines ) Very good.
Our lesson for today is all about Lines, again what is our lesson for today? ( Our lesson
for today is all about lines )
E. Discussion
I ready some sentence here on the board and lets all read it. Are you ready? ( Yes sir )
1. Ana draw the triangle using the straight lines.
2. The teacher use curved line to draw the clouds.
3. Using zigzag line Howard draw a mountain.
What did Ana use to draw the triangle ( straight lines sir ) and what did teacher use to
draw the clouds? ( curved lines sir ) very good.
Class, in making art did you think we need to use lines? ( Yes sir ) Very good. In making
any arts we need to use lines because lines are the foundation of drawing or any art.
Did you know class that there are five (5) kinds of basic lines and these are the
following:
Straight line- when the points always go in the same direction, they form a straight line.
Zigzag line- line which has a series of angles in it like a continuous series of 'W's.
Wavy line- line that has a series of regular curves along it.
Dotted line- a line of dots or dashes on a form or document.
Curly line- lines that bend and change direction gradually.
These are the example:
I will going to show you a picture and what you will going to do is to say what are the
lines that you can see in the picture. Understood? ( Yes sir )
What lines did you saw in the picture? ( straight line sir ) what else? ( zigzag line sir)
and the last one is? ( wavy line sir ). And those line are what? ( Basic lines ). very good.
Class, did you understand our lesson for today? ( Yes sir ). Do you have any question? (
No sir ).
F. Application
Now class we will be having a group activity. This is what you are going to do in your
group, the group one task is to draw the five basic line inside the circle to form a ball
and for the group two they will going to draw the five basic line using the different color
by following the legend I have given. Did you understand class ( Yes sir )
But before that I have here a rubrics on how I will rate you performance and output in
each group. The group that they cooperate and every member help each other will
receive 3 points and the group that some of member are not helping will receive 2
points and for the group that only one member is working will receive 1 point. For the
creativity if the output of the group consist all the five different kind of basic lines will
receive 3 points and to the group that they only use three basic lines in there output will
receive 2 points and for the group that they only use two basic lines will receive 1point.
lastly for the neatness the group that there output is neat and clean will receive 3 points
and for the group who complete their output neat with some part is less neat will receive
2 points and for the group that there output is more messy than neat will receive 1 point.

Why is lines is important in drawing or any art? ( because it is the foundation of
drawing)
