Alma Matter Speech
Ricardo F. Abad, sir, to our beloved principal, Mr. Fidel L. Carig, sir, to our respective teachers
and parents, my fellow students, ladies and gentlemen, good evening!
Education is one of our guides in our daily life. It defines the knowledge, skills and
attitude that we develop in this institution. Life becomes harder without education. Life is
useless without perseverance. Life is a nightmare without sacrifices. Life is dead without
dreams prospected. Therefore, education should be our top most priority in life which gives us
confidence to hit our targets.
I remember when I’m still an elementary pupil; I always wonder how it feels like to be in
your high school life. Is it happy? Isn’t that hard? But now, I’m a high school student, all my
queries were answered. I can say that I already experienced how happy life can be and how
hard life is. And mind you, being a student is never an easy task but surely gives you bitter-
sweet experiences. It is a journey full of memories and experiences that gave us learnings as
well. We learned to express ourselves and shared our hidden talents. All the good and bad
memories, experiences, embarrassments, special occasions that came into our life will live
memorable and kept as our treasures that we’ll be taken away onto the next chapter of our
life.
When we had surprised quizzes, recitations, practicum and examinations, we took them
as challenges as we coped with our studies and instruments to build our characters that would
shape our future. Students always expect passing grades, high scores, and positive
compliments from their teachers. But how can you obtain these without you choosing
hardwork? Without you taking risks and sacrifices? Certainly, no matter how much
encouragements had been poured to you, it will always be your own choice to live the life you
had been dreaming. So choose wisely, especially when it comes to education and priority.
As I end this speech, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude and thanksgiving to
our beloved principal and teachers who always shared their inspiring pieces of advice from
their life experiences, to all the parents who always support us in our every endeavor. We
thank you so much.
To my dear Alma Mater, we owe and adore you. Your name will ring to the sweetest
rhapsody because we love and glorify you. Your fountain of knowledge give us strength to face
a brighter tomorrow. We are very grateful that we became predecessors of goodwill in this
school.
